Odd Hours continues the story of Dean Koontz's most likeable and quirky character, Odd Thomas, a young man who "sees dead people" as well as a few other spooky things. Koontz is at his best here, introducing several new characters just as quirky as Odd Thomas and giving us a lightning-paced plot that caught and held my attention from the beginning. Odd Thomas's journey is one of self-discovery, and he is thrown once again into a situation where he is the reluctant, yet "oddly" effective hero. Koontz plans to continue Odd Thomas's story in a seven-novel arc, which means eventually I will have to say goodbye to my friend Odd Thomas ? what? Like I had to say goodbye to Harry Potter? Where to I sign up to protest?
