I'm sure most people have heard of William Gibson. But they may not know Virtual Light — his sleeper novel (and my favorite novel). This intriguing tale of espionage and survival in a near-future dystopia has realistic characters in a very realistic-feeling future. The technology, the cities, and the companies are, as in many of Gibson's tales, what our future will look like. It is very well written, gritty, and dark. I love the story and how it unfolds. I'd recommend this book to anyone, sci-fi fans and lit-heads alike.
