Lilly is moving into her dorm tomorrow. The plan is that I'm staying until Sunday night to make sure she's settled. We haven't been talking about it too much, but we have talked about a lot of other things that we have never talked about before, it's almost like we are hanging on to what's left of our time like a piece of boat that's slowly disappearing and I'm trying to will it to slow down. And just when it looks like I might have ? time catches back up.
Today we drove over the mountain, through the tunnel, to the other side of the island, past waterfalls up high that looked like long silk strings lying between green peaks. Mostly silent when we reached the other side, and without thinking I jokingly say, "We're a long ways from home now tiger the international dateline is right out there ? we got time breathing down our necks."
Then Lilly says, "We're close to tomorrow."
