That's right for nine days only Seattle becomes the Jet City of Books! Powell's will be setting up shop at University Book Store (at the main store in the University District; 4326 University Way NE) from September 10-18. We'll be ready to personally inspect and buy used books each day, Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.. Give us your tired, your poor, your well-loved books. Specifically, we want large quantities of:
Earn cash or store credit it's your choice! (20% more with credit. Redeemable at University Book Store. Some exclusions apply.) But please, whatever you do, DON'T bring any of the following:
We don't want 'em, we can't use 'em, we won't buy 'em. Pass them along to friends or strangers, with our blessings.
We buy books we feel we can resell. You'll earn a percentage of the price we expect to charge for the books: 25% in cash or 30% in University Book Store credit. While the book buyers' prices may seem arbitrary, our keen-eyed experts base their pricing on desirability, market value, in-print price, condition, our current stock levels, and the absence of funky food stains (always bad). We actively pursue quality used, antiquarian, and scholarly books. We also buy rep samples, library de-accessions and donations, academic collections, bookstore inventories, and, of course, private libraries. Bring 'em on! We hope to see you there.
