2013 Signed Editions Sweepstakes Official Rules

1. Eligibility and How to Enter

NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER THIS SWEEPSTAKES and, by inference, to win the prize mentioned herein. Eligibility is limited to legal adults (as determined by the entrant's country, state, or province of residence; i.e., over 18 or 19, as applicable). Employees of Powell's Books, Inc. and its participating sponsors are not eligible to win the prize, nor are members of their immediate families. 

By submitting an email address beginning October 1, 2013, at 12:00 p.m. (noon) (Pacific Time) at www.powells.com/signed-editions-sweepstakes-2013/ you are entered to win one grand prize of 22 books, each signed by its author(s). Entries for the prize must be submitted before 12:00 p.m. (Pacific Time) October 31, 2013. Prize winner will be selected by random drawing on November 1, 2013. Entries for the prize submitted after 12:00 p.m. (Pacific Time) on October 31, 2013, will be disqualified. Limit one entry per customer. If you are already subscribed to Specials and PowellsBooks.news emails, your subscription will not be altered and you will be entered to win the sweepstakes. Offer void where prohibited. 

Powell's Books, Inc. will issue the prize by November 30, 2013, free of shipping and handling fees associated with the prize. Powell's Books, Inc. is not responsible for lost, late, or incorrect entries. No purchase is necessary to enter this sweepstakes, and, by inference, to win the prize mentioned herein.

2. How We Select the Winner

Powell's Books, Inc. will select the prize winner by randomly choosing one email address from the total pool of entrants. We will notify the winner via email following the closing date of the sweepstakes. If the selected winner is unreachable, ineligible, or fails to claim the prize within seventy-two (72) hours, the winner will forfeit his or her prize and an alternate winner will be selected. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. 

3. About the Prize

One (1) sweepstakes grand-prize winner will be awarded the prize specified within said sweepstakes; the ultimate classification of the prize remains at the discretion of Powell's Books, Inc. and its sponsors. Some prizes may carry their own expirations, limitations, and/or specifications that will be named by Powell's Books, Inc. No part of the sweepstakes prize is transferable. All taxes associated with the receipt or use of the sweepstakes prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. The estimated value of the prize is $550.00. 

4. Affidavit of Eligibility and Publicity Release

The sweepstakes winner may be required to execute a legal affidavit of eligibility and acceptance of these Official Rules, release of liability, confirmation of rights, and, except where prohibited by law, consent to use of his or her name, city, state or province, and/or prize information, without limitation for promotional purposes and without further payment. 

5. Release

By submitting an entry, entrants release Powell's Books, Inc., our sponsors and their affiliated companies from any and all liability for any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the prize (including, without limitation, claims, costs, injuries, and losses related to personal injuries, death, damage to or destruction of property, or rights of publicity or privacy). EMAIL ADDRESSES SUBMITTED TO POWELL'S BOOKS, INC. WILL NOT BE SHARED, SOLD, OR DISCLOSED TO THIRD PARTIES, EXCEPT AS REQUIRED BY LAW. 

6. Other

Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules, which are final and binding in all respects. These Official Rules constitute the entire agreement of the parties with respect to the subject matter addressed here and may not be altered except by a written document signed both by qualified representatives of Powell's Books, Inc. and the entrant. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Powell's Books, Inc. reserves the right to change these Official Rules at any time. Any entrant who violates these Official Rules will be subject to disqualification.
