The Heartland is a wonderful series of books great for the preteen girl who loves horse. Each new book is filled with touching stories about young girls and their love for horses. Although the books can be sad they teach compassion and a love for animals.

Flan Flood was a fun character who teenage girls can easily relate to. Flan is keeping a huge secret from her new friends at school. This will leave you unable to put the book down as you will be caught up in Flans exciting and confusing teenage life. When Flan meets a cute boy in school name Bennet her secret becomes even harder to keep. When her shocking secret is accidentally revealed her world is turned upside down and everyone she has come to care about turns on her for her lies. As Flan struggles to make things right she discovers that being her true self is the only way to be happy.
