Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. Are you interested in the sociology of getting dressed? Women's relationships with clothing their bodies? Questions of style, beauty, preferences, and comfort? This is a most delectably fun and fascinating book. The editors sent out a survey full of interesting questions to over 600 women and then compiled the responses in creative ways throughout the book. I'm flipping around, enjoying some pages each night before bed. Highly recommended!

Lessons from the Source A Spiritual Guidebook for Navigating Lifes Journey
by
Jack Armstrong

Why read Lessons from the Source? Because this book is like a plain-spoken, warm-hearted friend right by your side ready to offer solace and reassurance no matter where you are on your spiritual journey. I myself have read many spiritual books over the years, including teachings by Neale Donald Walsch, Ramana Maharshi, Eckhart Tolle, Byron Katie, and others. I appreciated that this book not only resonated with me like the best spiritual books I've read before, but that it did so in such a positive way! Plus, the writing is so clear and immediately accessible. I recommend this book to everyone, whether you've read many spiritual books or none at all. In fact, this would be a terrific little book to hand out as an uplifting gift. Lessons is truly a guidebook of the best kind - each chapter reminded me that we are here to enjoy life and instantly brought me gratitude and joy.
