This Present Darkness

One of the first books I read last year and I bought another one as a gift for my bestfriend. The plot was insanely simple but the effect was global. after reading the book I realized, " Ey! That could be true! I mean the scenes in the story are so pragmatic that they may truly be happening right here and now..."

Land Of Elyon 01 Dark Hills Divide

... I am never a big fan of "short" books (meaning the number of pages :) ) but this story of Elyon with its mystery, magic stones, talking animals and an unusual city map has induced me with a different flavor of fascination and admiration to Patrick Carman. He was able to create a magnificent story out of a simple forest and the uncommon cities... A big Kudos to you! I hate to say this but I am still looking for the book 2 and 3 of the series here in my local area... :(

I love longs stories and this book satisfied me to the bones...!!! The words were lavishly exploited and described; I can totally experience that I was part of the story ...! And the characters were totally new and unpredictable as well...! Storyline and plot were so uniquely set and bizarre in many ways but it just took my heart away... ! This book was just too powerful, crazy and wonderful all at the same time!

I thought only a child can honor this book but when I scan the first pages I couldn't take my eyes off and I went from page 1 to the next and next... I was fascinated on how Cornelia Funke used the simple but BIG words to envelope readers into the dragon rider's world. I hope there's a second chapter on the life of the dragon rider ... :)

... This book is like one of the classic stories I've read when I was younger and still remember the details 10 years after!... ... I bought this book 2 years ago and I still remember the very small details of the story! ... It's a thing you will never find again in a such long time... High five to P.B. Kerr!!!
