This is an adorable story to show the importance of trees. The author shows the reader the many things that trees are able to provide. The theme is discovering the beauty of something, even if it is just a tree. Trees might be taken for granted, but it is important to see how great they really are!

This award winning book involves friendship, loyalty, will-power and courage. I would definitely use this in my classroom in the future. It would be most appropriate for 1-3 graders, because it is a mini "chapter book." I highly reccommend this story!
