This book has been around awhile but reads well today. Really explores the mind reading concept in an insightful way. More about psychic abilities and less about space......it's an enjoyable read.

I was expecting a lot from this book. It received several awards and has garnered a great deal of critical acclaim but it fell flat for me. It left me feeling empty.......the book/story felt unfinished.

Fast paced but fairly predictable. Good read but not many surprises.

Candyfreak: A Journey Through the Chocolate Underbelly of America
by
Almond, Steve

Semi-fascinating story about a few classic traditional candy business'. It was an OK read but lacked breadth. I'd only had a few of the candies described and I really would have enjoyed less depth on more candies. Still......I read it in two sittings and it made my mouth water!

I love books that make you think about life and this book certainly does that. It's a very well written story that makes you think about how you live your life......in a manageable way. This is one of those books that could have a positive, uplifting effect on every person that reads it.

On A Pale Horse: Incarnations of Immortality 1
by

What a kick! True fantasy masterpiece and the first in a 7 book series. This book can be read as a stand alone but it did lead me to read the rest of the series. The rest of the series is not as strong as this opening novel but worth pursueing if you like this book. This book has broad appeal and is a fun read.

Excellent Dirk Pitt novel! This is a fast paced, intricate story that leaves you shaking your head wondering if something like this is actually possible. Incredibly well written by a master in the field. If you're familiar with Pitt, you will love this book, if you've never met Dirk before, this is a great introduction!

This is an interesting, well written story. Varley displays an intriguing style that is easy to digest and fun to read. The story has some unusual twists, is very believable and will keep you interested up to the final page.

What Dreams May Come
by
Richard Matheson
Jeff McBride
, January 22, 2007
This is a moving, thoughtful life/love story. I was enthralled by the story and the words Matheson uses to paint an incredible visual picture. The book draws you in from the start with a mysterious letter and doesn't let you go until the last page. It was gripping and I didn't want it to end. While I thoroughly enjoyed it.....if you haven't experienced an intense love in your life, you may not be moved in the same way. However, it is said that people have felt more peace and less fear when it comes to dying after reading this book......that in itself makes it worth reading.

How would you like to live your life over and over again, retaining your knowledge and experience? What would you do? Would you make the same choices? Would you grow tired of living or be energized by the opportunities? This is a fun, cranial, moving story that I've recommended to my friends. Every single person has come back with awe in their eyes and a thank you on their lips! I am a voracious reader and this is one of my favorite books of all time!
