Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. I highly recommend digging into the recommendations — we would never lead you astray — but today...

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Harry Potter #3)

I never read the Harry Potter series, though I saw all the movies, right when they came out. All my friends told me to read them. I waited, saw the movies, loved them. Then finally this year, I came across the books in my library. I decided that I would finally read the Harry Potter series. The third movie was never my favorite, but i adored the third book. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was my favorite book in the series. I realized that they left so much out of the movie. I got the whole back story of James Potters friends. There is so much that they did not include in the movie. I loved reading this series and I seriously recommend reading this series, especially the third book.

Bloody Jack 05 Mississippi Jack
by

Mississippi Jack is by far the best Bloody Jack book yet written. Sure it is the longest one, but it is the best. Jacky is up to no good, but that is what she is good at! she travels down the Mississippi with her true love Jaimy Fletcher just days behind her. Jacky meets many interesting people along the way, like Sacagawea. she also runs into the British Navy, no shock there. This book is thrilling and fun loving, typical Jacky Faber. It is a must read!

Bloody Jack 03 Under the Jolly Roger Being an Account of the Further Nautical Adventures of Jacky Faber

The Bloody Jack series is an amazing series, full of adventure, love, humor, and good times. Under the Jolly Roger is one of my favorites because the main character Jacky Faber is a pirate. She is sailing on the high seas, which she loves so dearly. This book has an exciting plot and pirate fun. this book also gets daring Jacky into alot of trouble, but she always gets out of it. a great read and so is the rest of the series.
