Five Book Friday: In Memoriam
(0 comment)
Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. I just finished this book last night in bed. It was so interesting that I couldn't put the book down! I was supposed to be asleep at 11:30, but I was up reading until 12:30. It really was a good book, as was Flush, another Carl Hiaasen book that I loved.

I LOVED this book! My teacher read this story to us last year. His name is David Reith (Mr. Reith). He is a funny teacher. He's not very old either. Not older than 40. Anyway, I loved the way this book was about a solved problem. Just last night I got finished with Hoot, another one of his stories that my cousin and I were reading. I enjoyed reading both!

This novel is about two rival schools who are forced to write letters to each other. They weren't thrilled at first, but they became friends. Big problem in the end, but I don't ruin surprises!!

I don't want to sound sappy but I almost cried when Queenie fell off Smokey during the dog attack. I thought she was going to be seriously hurt! Besides her collarbone and her cut lip, she seemed okay. I love how the book ended but I don't want to give anything away!
