The Cheapskate Next Door: The Surprising Secrets of Americans Living Happily Below Their Means
by
Jeff Yeager
Theresa Bush
, September 02, 2011
I LOVE this book! Not only is it full of great advice, but it has practical examples, fun stories from real life cheapskates, and lots and lots of humor. Jeff Yeager travels the country, on the cheap of course, asking people questions about how they save money. He meets some great characters and learns a lot along the way. And so does the reader. There are statistics and quotes, but not enough to bore (waay less than the Millionaire Next Door!). This book also includes sources for learning more, including plenty of interesting websites. The Cheapskate Next Door is worth reading for financial improvement, a new perspective on life, and just plain entertainment.

Animal, Vegetable, Miracle: A Year of Food Life
by
Kingsolver, Barbara and Kingsolver, Camille and Hopp, Steven L.

Great! Wonderful information, great gardening ideas, and great recipes! And a fun read! Something for everyone. The book that got me to grow asparagus, and to bake zucchini chocolate chip cookies - and eating more locally. Barbara Kingsolver is a wonderful and amazing author, and her nonfiction is as good as her fiction. I keep buying used copies every time I see them, just to pass out to other people.
