, May 15, 2007
The best battles in fantasy fiction! Born to a society dominated by females, Drizzt becomes the ultimate warrior prince. The Drow city of Icewind Dale is home to the dark elves, were Drizzt Do'Urden?s family rules as the ninth house. Cunning and treachery are a way of life in the immense city, were elfin House?s strive for power and control of the metropolis, Icewind Dale. Drizzt uses his double swords to battle magic, treachery and the dark ideals of his society. Exiled, Drizzt is chased by Zaknafein, the undead evil spirit who occupies the body of his father. Breathtaking battles take place as Drizzt struggles to escape from the unscrupulous life of the dark elves. Excellent read, I found it hard to stop reading as each chapter contain spectacular sword fights as well as dark and malevolent magic.

Meg Cabot
xani
, May 14, 2007
The prom season is just starting; memories are waiting to be made by all who attend the prom. With the dress, hair, make-up, shoes and nails all perfect for the night to remember. The girls expect to be admired for the boys they date to the way they glide to a slow dance that is until the dress starts to fall apart. The impression of a grand entrance is marred when you fall out of the limo. You best friend is stalking your date, sure he is the wrong guy for you, she is willing to shot him to make her point. Captured by the stories from your favorite authors, you will be disappointed when this prom date ends.

Coal Black Horse
by
Robert Olmstead
xani
, May 14, 2007
The novel, The Coal Black Horse by Robert Olmstead is filled with symbolism. The book centers on Robey Child who symbolizes the loss of innocence that forces both children and adults, to pay with a part of their soul to survive. Robey represents the child in all society - a society that is not prepared for the gruesome nature of war nor the effects that will last long after the war has ended. The horse is coal black, devoid of any color, contrasting with Robey who is wearing a jacket that is both blue and gray representing both sides of the civil war. Robey sees the carnage, death, and destruction that has taken the toll on both sides of the war, where devastation knows no winner or loser. Riding the coal black horse, Robey is given a higher vantage point to view the war that unfolds around him. Without the horse Robey struggles, a naive Child lost and unprepared to witness the carnage that unfolds around him as he searches for his father who is doomed to die on the Gettysburg battlefield.
