March 31 is International Transgender Day of Visibility, a day dedicated to celebrating the lives and accomplishments of transgender and gender-nonconforming people, while continuing to bring attention to the ongoing prejudice and violence the community faces every day. It’s also a day that serves as an important reminder to cisgender folks...

Chocolat

It doesn't matter how old you are, or where your from, this book will inspire all. This book is like a truffle. When you first bite into it, you can't taste the flavor, in the first second or two. After you chew it throughly, you finally taste flavor, and it melts in your mouth, spreading throught your body, and soon melting your heat. You fall in love with the truffle. That is exactly what happened with me, when I read this book, and I recommend this to all who need something sweet.

Dragon Rider
by
Cornelia Funke
iluvanimals517
, January 01, 2008
This book was truly work of magic. It's about a young boy, who meets a dragon. Little did he know that he was about to embark on a dangerous adventure, and find out the prophcey of the Dragon Rider, was about him. Cornelia Funke has such a vivid imagination, that everyone can't help but love, and cherish. When you turn a page, it crinkles slightly, inviting you into a world of adventure. It is written cleverly, and light. The words flow together like a powerful mudflow, keeping you on the edge of your seat, waiting for more. This book has the most common magical creatures, like dragons, brownies, and dragon riders, but yet it is not like other magical books. Dragon Rider is unique in it's own way, it's one of those books that you don't come pass everyday, and if you do, you want to hold on to it forever, and read it over and over again.

Surviving the Applewhites
by

This book is one of my favorites! It was written beautifully, and it's obvious in every line! The story is about Jake, a delinquent who ends up staying at the Applewhites' house. E.D. is in no mode ready to share her school project with him, or worse, her home. Jake brings adventure, and spark to everyone's life, even if he hates it there. He has an effect on everyone, and they soon start to change. And before Jake knows it, so has he.

This is a great book, and it doesn't matter how old you are. Sammy Keyes is the clever tomboy, that we all love. Wendelin Van Draanen makes all her books have a magical feeling, where you can not put the book down, no matter how hard you try. She makes every word come alive, and dance before your eyes. Another book, that will bring you great laughter!

Mick Harte Was Here
by
Barbara Park

A very touching book. A great author is all you need to make a story like this great, and Barbara Park was the perfect author to write this. It was smart to make this a young reader level, since thats mostly the audience she wanted. The theme is simple: Wear a helmet when you ride a bike, or wear the sorrow and guilt for the people you love. A winner!

Junie B. Jones and The Stupid Smelly Bus (Junie B. Jones #1)

This is the book that started it all! Junie B. Jones is a character that you'll never want to forget! I have read this book about 10 times, and on about the 6th, I realized that I was smiling non-stop that whole time I was reading! How many books can do that?! This is a perfect book to read out loud to your kids, or to read if you want a light, funny, smart, and cute book to read. A winner!

Charlie & The Chocolate Factory
by
Roald Dahl
iluvanimals517
, December 29, 2007
A wonderful book, that shows us the extrodinary imagination of Roald Dahl. Charlie Bucket lives with his parents and his four grandparents in an old, falling apart house. They are very poor, in a middle class village. The most important part of the village is the wonderful chocolate factory, owned by the famous Willie Wonka. Willie Wonka has decided to place 5 golden tickets in ordinary candy bars. The tickets invite 5 children to visit his factory. What is so special about that? No one has ever been in there for a long time, yet it still produces sweets. Amazingly enough, Charlie is one of the 5 children, but what he doesn't know is the adventures that await him.

Although the cost is a bit too high for my taste, this book helped me a lot! It is not too hard, not too easy. Perfect for a newcomer of French, that knows how to pronounce things, and read a little in French. Also a very cute story!
