Third in the series, good book. There is gore, mayhem, revenge, found love, lost loves, found relatives, traitors, & more: all in a parallel story. A satisfying end to the trilogy and a great read.

Summoning God

It is an enjoyable follow up to The Visitant and it was nice to read more about the characters, of the past and present. Through the mysteries of uncovering the past and the stories of the past people intertwine even more in this book, every page seems to make you want to read just one more page to see whats going to happen next. Must read series.

Ghost Map
by

I thought that this was a thoroughly enjoyable book to read. It wasn't too dry and Steve Johnson made reading about the 1854 Cholera epidemic in London a page turner. I would really suggest this to anyone who loves to read this type of book.

Great & Godly Adventure The Pilgrims & the Myth of the First Thanksgiving
by
Godfrey Hodgson
Taynb
, July 26, 2009
An interesting tale on how the Pilgrims made their way to Plymouth. Also on what happened on the 'first thanksgiving.' No pies or turkey on the first dinner. But it does go through the history of after the Pilgrims celebration, including the first Thanksgiving football game in 1893, the era that tends to having Thanksgiving float between several different dates (instead of a fall harvest celebration). The beginning of Thanksgiving as a start to Christmas shopping. A good read.

Round Ireland With A Fridge

I loved this book. It was a mixture of funny, sad, and the weird. I couldn't stop reading this book and not sure if I could do it on a bet for 100 Pounds! But love how Tony Hawks gets a major following as he goes around Ireland. A must read.

Brewing Up A Business Adventures In Entr
by
Sam Calagione
Taynb
, February 10, 2009
This book was a fun book to read. Its kind of off centered for a business book but Sam Calagione does write it well. Starts off with when he started to try brewing beer to when the book was printed. He points out the joys of starting his own business, the windfalls, and some tips of how to start your own business as an entrepreneur. If you like micro breweries that do interesting beers, you will like this book. Its a book not only for beer lovers but for entrepreneurs who have thought about doing something like this.

First Generations
by

A very good book to learn about the women in colonial America up to the Revolutionary War. The trials and tribulations. The 'givens' on what women were able to do or not able to do, also those who defied those given rules of gender. The stories are from black and white, rich and poor, slave and indentured.

A fascinatingly written book where you might think where the pages would turn but then there is another kink that would throw you off. There you start thinking wait a minute... A must read.

Praying in the Presence of Our Lord with St. Therese of Lisieux (Praying in the Presence)
by

It is a pretty good book, taking excerpts from Story of a Soul and Last Conversations on a wide variety of subjects in which she writes about or quoted on. Includes bible passages in which she talks about and also prayers that seem suited for what she had written about.

In the Wake of the Plague The Black Death & the World It Made
by
Norman Cantor
Taynb
, January 17, 2008
Norman Cantor writes about the the Black Plague with great detail. Describing the spread and the consequences of the socio economic devastation of the poorer classes that took a third of Europeans in the 14th Century. Also, theories of how some present day people are possibly immune to Aids from their ancestors who survived this plague, and how Ring a Ring o' Roses, a pocket full of posies has a different connotation once you have read this book.

Great Influenza The Epic Story of the Deadliest Plague in History
by
John M Barry
Taynb
, January 17, 2008
If you have ever were curious about infectious diseases, you will be interested in this. The book is based on the 1918 influenza epidemic, that seemed to have no end because it seemed to be misdiagnosed in so many people. It was hard hit among the young and old but also spread through soldiers during WWI. Seemed to spread through troop movement and when soldiers came back home. It tended to get a little repetitive in the last 100 pages but still a good read.

6 Messiahs
by
Mark Frost
Taynb
, January 17, 2008
This sequel to The List Of Seven is not as much of a page turner but kept me wrapped up in the book till I was finished with it. In this book, Doyle and his brother are in America on a book tour, to find that evil has found them there. It is a good battle of good and evil and how 6 people are tied up in the whole thing.

This is a well written book about Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in Victorian England, in this page turner. I couldn't stop reading about how Doyle finds himself in a mystery about the occult and a group called the Dark Brotherhood. If you like Sherlock Holmes books, you will like this one!

Where White Men Fear to Tread The Autobiography of Russell Means
by
Means, Russell

I enjoyed this book because it was straight to the heart of his life, experiences in the Native American community, his own struggles with habits that seem to plague a lot of people, to his role in the Last Of The Mohican's (will never see a Costner film in the same way again-must read the book to find out why).

Roanoke Solving the Mystery of the Lost Colony
by
Lee Miller
Taynb
, January 17, 2008
Lee Miller has some interesting theories of what happened to Roanoke Island. It intricately weaves the characters involved with starting the Colony. From the soldiers who started to build the Fort to White's Colony to the people who might have wanted to see it not flourish. Will let you see for yourself if you get drawn into the book like I was.
