New Literature in Translation: December 2022 and January 2023
(0 comment)
It may be a new year, this may be a list of new books, but our love for literature in translation hasn’t changed at all, and we are so pleased to be enthusiastically recommending these recent releases. On this list, you’ll find a Spanish novel where controversy swirls around a Coca-Cola billboard...

Stephen King DVD Collector's Set (Misery / The Dark Half / Needful Things / Carrie) (Full Screen)

Anything by Stephen King is worth a read or a watch if not both. Some are admittedly better than others but this collection has some of his best - Misery will make you cringe, Needful Things and The Dark Half will keep you close to the edge of your seat, but the best of this collection has got to be Carrie - Sissy Spacek delivers a performance that is both riveting and terrifying. The cruelty of kids and what could happen is brought to life by King and the characters given even more by the actors in this, one of the all time favorites of many, film.

Seeing the harried existence my two young children live and knowing the effect it has on adults makes me wonder if our childhoods could have had an impact on how we are today. Can't wait to pick this book up and find some ways to help them cope.

Have been looking and looking for a book that will offer insights on how to help my son grow up to be a mature well rounded young man without all the he-man attitudes and no male role model for him to look up too. Am hoping this book will enable me to assist him on his journey from pre-teen to teen to manhood.

Got this book from the library for my kids. They just loved it - it may say for 10 and up by my 5 year old daughter insisted on acting out some of the stories. It has now been added to the list of books we must buy for their collection.
