While not a childrens fairy tale the book was a delight. The book breathed new life into the concept of old fairy tales and created a wonderful unique novel.

Brewster's Millions

A very cute romance. The movie barely did the book justice. The story is that of a man who finds he has inherited from one family member and then has another relative die who hated the first and has strong requirements of what will make a good person to manage his fortune. Mr Brewster discovers that he must divest himself of the first fortune as he can not receive his large inheritance if he has any of so-in-so's money. He has only one year to do it and that durning that time he must spend his money in a reasonable way and not let the woman he loves or anyone else know what he is doing.
