This has been one of our daughter’s top 3 books for the past 2 months. (She’s 5 months old now.) She instantly lights up whenever she sees someone holding Moo, Baa, La La La. The animal sounds crack her up. There must be something special about the illustrations as well, since simply reciting the book, when it’s not handy, doesn’t get us the same reaction. When reading this book to her at a family gathering, we found that Moo, Baa, La La La is a book that’s not easily forgotten (in a good way). A cousin helped us “read” the book from across the room. Apparently, it had been a favorite in their house as well—17 years ago.

We read our little girl, now 5 months old, a lot of books. Out of them all, this is one of the few that never fails to capture her attention and make her smile (and, often, laugh!). It's been a hit for more than 2 months already. Early on, the bold colorful words on simple backgrounds captured her attention. Then, she began to focus on the illustrations and take interest in the beautiful baby that appears in the mirror on the last page of the book. She’s always loved the repetitive sounds, like all the fun words that rhyme with “zoo.” A word of caution, though, if you’re not into hamming it up when reading, this probably isn’t the right book for you and your kid. (A friend once tried to read this to our daughter as if it were a story. Fell flat.)
