Vegan Diner Classic Comfort Food for the Body & Soul
by
Julie Hasson

I love Everyday dish and Julie's food cart, among the best in Portland. I've done a lot of the recipes in this book and most are easy to make even for a beginner. My favorites are so far the donuts, english muffins and cheesy Mac.

Vegan Cooking for Carnivores Over 125 Recipes So Tasty You Wont Miss the Meat
by
Roberto Martin, Quentin Bacon, Ellen Degeneres

, May 20, 2012
Just got it and haven't tried that many recipes yet. The book is very beautiful, the photos are really nice. The recipes are very heavy on pre-made fake meat, (soyritzos, seitan, etc) but that isn't much of a problem for me since I like the more "meaty2 vegan food. I've tried the Reuben and the the "famous" rice&beans and both were easy to make and tasty. It isn't a life changing book like Veganomicon but it fill a purpose for everyone that just turned vegan and miss the meat.

The Sultan of Zanzibar: The Bizarre World and Spectacular Hoaxes of Horace de Vere Cole. Martyn Downer
by
Martyn Downer
Johan
, March 03, 2012
Who can't love a man who dress up as a sultan and fool the the university and the city of Cambridge to be leave he was the real thing. It is a funny and a bit tragic picture of a man who wanted to be seen and was filled with a lot more than just humour. We follow Horace de Vere Cole thru his life, with university pranks, tabloids and and gossip columns, and also a private life that let us see another part of a man who many just see as a prankster.

Reamde
by
Neal Stephenson
Johan

Stephenson is back from a long run of rather boring books, Reamde is the book that we have been waiting for since Snow Crash and Cryptonomicon. The twist in the story are many and a the techno-talk doesn't feel dated and old, he really know what he talks about.
