Wow, what an AMAZING read! I finally started the book the other day thinking I'd read a few chapters before it got too warm to think and before I knew it I was almost halfway through. I just love the way Emily tells her story. She's unapologetic but it's more than that, there's also a vulnerability under the surface that comes through in her need to tell the story her way, in her own time, giving slight glimpses only before reverting back to the everyday of life in the ward. It speaks to a need to control something, anything, even if its only the way that her version of the story comes out. You just get such a sense that Everything else has been taken away from her and she just so needs this offhanded telling, this blasé cover that she constructs. I just kept thinking one more chapter, then I'll get up, one more, then I'll get dinner. But the way the story is meted out you just feel so compelled to keep reading. I absolutely Loved this book and will share and recommend it with Everyone I know!! It was so much more than just the story itself, it was the way the story was presented, it was Emily's voice, the way her bravado slowly cracked. I cannot believe this is a debut and will most definitely keep an eye out for this author! One of the best books I've read in a while and one that I can tell will stay with me. There was just something so beautifully haunting about it, like I know I shouldn't care for Emily so much, she tells you herself from the start that she's evil, but she's also just so Real. Just WOW, that's really the only thing left to say!!

wow, this book was even better than i had hoped! it had every element of a great story and my only complaint was that it had to end! seriously, all i can say is read this book! i'm not even into art but i still loved this book and found a new appreciation of art through it. i found myself unable to put it down today as i greedily read page after page speeding towards the end, both excited and saddened that i was almost finished. truly an amazing book that i only wish more people would find and read!

Forgotten Garden

i absolutely LOVED this book! i think i only gave her previous book 3 stars but this one was 5 all the way! it was just filled with layer upon layer of secrets and intrigue and mystery with a little romance sprinkled throughout for good measure. i loved all of the different voices throughout the different timelines too. i never wanted to put this book down! every time a bit of a secret was uncovered another mystery was underneath. every chapter, every page unearthed and unraveled more and more but in such a perfect way and pace. and you just fell in love with all of the different characters and their own plights and desires, each in their own time, and the way each character was linked to the others with fun surprises mixed in there too. it was such a bonus to have so many memorable characters and each of their own stories was unforgettable. i won't spoil anything by giving away actual details, just that the entire book overall was wonderfully and completely magical! a high recommend on this one and i eagerly await reading more by this author, hoping they are as much a treasure as the forgotten garden.

just plain and simple an awesomely fun read! i loved this book!! the 80s references were so much fun and totally took me back to being a kid! there are serious elements too though that bring an interesting idea of a bleak future where the only escape is into a 'virtual reality' simulation. i won't say more about it here but it reminds me of the harbinger of things to come underlying idea in the movie wall-e. overall though like i said it's just a really great book for any age and i'm impressed that it's the author's first novel. i would recommend this to anyone and it's one that i'll most likely read again down the road, it was that fun! ok my husband just finished the book today and says he would give it more than 5 stars if possible too! it became his favorite book off all time, that he's EVER read!! it was like you were so happy about the book but also so sad that the journey was over, and it was that way for both of us! he was basically in nerd-gasm central the entire book and we had so much fun talking about our favorite parts!! anyone and everyone should read this book!!!! it's definitely in my top 5 or top 3 books ever too and that's REALLY saying something for me!!!

First off WOW!! I was pretty much hooked from the first sentence of this book! For a book lover like myself what could be better than a book starting out by the main character visiting something called The Cemetery of Forgotten Books? Right from the start the story is both enchanting and intriguing and impossible to put down!! This book literally has it all; intrigue, action, love story, history, intense love of books, really too much to try and summarize in a review! Basically anyone and everyone who considers themselves a lover of books should go out and find this book immediately!! This is by far the best book I've read in months and I want everyone I know to read this book and be as enthralled and gripped by this book as I was! This is one of those books that doesn't come along often so when it does you treasure it. I just can't decide now whether or not to keep it or share it! I don't want to describe the details of the book here, you can find that on numerous websites without me outlining it, I just want people to know that it is an amazingly well written and thought out book and hopefully it will hook you from beginning to end as it did me!

Picture Perfect

Jodi Picoult

outstanding book! couldn't put it down, if you're a jodi picoult lover go out and read this book now!! the way picoult delves into what can be a touchy or controversial subject and draws you into the story from page one is amazing. rather than just reading about Cassie's life, you feel like you're living it with her. what should be a woman's dream come true quickly turns into a nightmare, but this book is also so much more than the typical abuse story. the twists that picoult adds liven up an older story line to make the book really pop. a must read for any picoult fan, one of my personal favs of hers.
