Replication The Jason Experiment
by
Jill Williamson
Reviews By Ann
, December 30, 2011
Replication makes cloning sound real. Riveting characters grabbed me from the start and never let me go with romance, suspense, and exotic settings. Even the bad guys felt real. I will absolutely read another Williamson title. The faith aspect of the story was organic and flowed naturally from the characters. Regardless of one’s religious beliefs, Replication stands on its own.

Yesterday's Tomorrow
by
Catherine West
Reviews By Ann
, September 06, 2011
A Powerful Story Told With Emotional Grit West did a masterful job evoking emotion in the reader. I had zero interest in reading about Vietnam, but picked up Yesterday's Tomorrow and couldn't put it down. It moved me more deeply than a book has in a very, very long time. When I shut the book, I felt disturbed. West made me believe her characters were real people, and I hurt for them as though they were.

Edge of Grace
by
Christa Allan
Reviews By Ann
, July 22, 2011
Not one to dance around tough issues, Christa Allan’s sophomore novel dives into the debris of the homosexuality-Christianity train wreck with grit and humor. Heart fills the conspicuous hole easy answers might have plugged. Allan awakens compassion for the gay Christian as well as his loved ones whose paradigm he wrenches. She draws characters who feel more like family than fiction with her effortless prose. A book worth reading.

Someone to Blame
by
Susanne Lakin
Reviews By Ann
, September 21, 2010
Lakin, in the tradition of Jodi Picoult, is a master at taking the reader into the hearts of her characters. Each voice is distinct, weaving a full-bodied story. I was lost to Lakin's sea-swept northern California town and it's quirky population. A family ravaged by grief takes center stage as they claw their way back to each other and emotional survival while their lives intertwine with a cipher--a young man no one understands. Someone to Blame is gripping novel that satisfies a reader's need to connect with a story and the characters who people it.

Just Between You & Me A Novel of Losing Fear & Finding God
by
Jenny B. Jones
Reviews By Ann
, January 22, 2010
Jones jumps genre into adult romance with the aplomb of a professional ballet dancer. Her knack for flawlessly juggling humor and life’s grittier issues now enhances the grown-up woman’s romance. Jones’ teen readers have leapt with her into the adult market without a hitch—if the teens I know are any indication. Jones will, no doubt, add a legion of adults to her following. Bravo! For any who wondered if Jones could master a full-on romance. She totally brings it.

Charmed Life 02 Im So Sure
by
Jenny B Jones
Reviews By Ann
, January 22, 2010
I grabbed I’m So Sure on my way into the, ahem, reading room. Three chapters and a serious case of ring-around-the-butt later, I had fallen in love. As with any Jenny B. Jones title, you can expect equal doses of overcoming what life dishes and forming lasting bonds. A must-read, must laugh, must-read-again book.

Walking on Broken Glass
by
Christa Allan
Reviews By Ann
, January 22, 2010
With brilliant prose, Allen transports the reader into the world of alcoholism and sexual abuse—places the reader may not want to go. But Allen infuses Leah Thornton with heart and intelligent wit that cause the reader to fall in love with her. Allen humanizes and stirs sympathy for Leah’s abusive husband. We believe in the end, the gritty battlefield of their marriage can be salvaged. And we’re left with a residue of hope for our own battles and compassion for fellow strugglers.
