Have you ever wondered just where and how Alexander McCall Smith ran into Precious? I have... And now I know...this is a wonderful book for those of us who want to know the 'back story'... Here you find Harry Bosch...his author friend Michael Connelly, and how they became buddies... Lou Boldt explained by Ridley Pearson...how did that happen...? Alex Delaware and Jonathan Kellerman...and many many more...some my favorites...some I did not know...but all of them intriguing enough to make me want to read their beginnings, and continue with all their adventures beyond...I will read it again...I want to get the full enjoyment out of each relationship...they are all different...and good friends of mine now...:)

If you were a friend of mine I can guarantee you would already have a copy of this book..I buy several every year and rack my brain to find someone new to share this wonderful story with...:) The author also has a few other books out, all in the same vein...wild family of somewhat neglected('cause Mom is stressed, not necessarily mean...Dad is gone) kids...who somehow come through to teach us all a few things...with humor...lots of humor...:)
