McCallandia
by
Bill Hall
Elizabeth Fox
, May 25, 2015
Fans of alternative history, creative nonfiction, and biography will love this meticulously researched and engaging book. Bill Hall has carefully crafted a book that leaves the reader informed, entertained, and enthralled with the concept of what a nation under Tom McCall might have been like. Thanks to Bill's expertly wrought dialog and characters, Utopia has never seemed so real and so close; this book is a great escape!

Gimme Refuge The Education of a Caretaker
by
Matt Love
Elizabeth Fox
, March 26, 2010
Gimme Refuge is Matt Love's account of his decade as the live-in caretaker of the Nestucca Bay Wildlife Refuge and his years teaching at Neskowin Valley School on the Oregon coast. Throughout the book, Matt alternately struggles with blackberries, mouse turds, government policies, unruly students, and defining himself as a writer. It's fresh, funny, inspirational, engaging, and truly is about how "You can't always get what you want / But if you try sometimes you just might find / You get what you need.”
