This book is full of twists and turns, but it does so in a very unique way. This is all about the 'woman upstairs'...the one who seems to be the most put together, polite and well respected within her community. The one who seemingly feels forgotten, but she is a force withing herself. The main character proves to be intriguing and mysterious and the people she comes to befriend are just as fascinating ..... Blended Nation Portraits & Interviews Of Mixed Race America

This book is a gem. There aren't very many out there currently like it. Being someone of multicultural background, this book is inspiring, life affirming, as well as mind opening. It basically gives the perspectives of many different multicultural and biracial individuals, of all ages and from varying parts of the country. This gives the text of the book a fresh look at how these people feel about themselves, and the the way the world percieves them...which can be very opposing and surprising. Plus there is the addition of a candid photograph of each person and family that has given their perspective. It's a great read for anyone.
