Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. I highly recommend digging into the recommendations — we would never lead you astray — but today...

Rule Of The Bone is a good-time book with a deeper meaning into the mind and life of this "lost" boy. Couldn't put the book down! Russell Banks is not an author to ignore.

Million Miles in a Thousand Years What I Learned While Editing My Life
by

This easy-to-read book is not just an "easy" read but an Inspiring(!) read. Don Miller always has a way with his words and this book about how our lives are our own stories for us to live, like an adventure, has gotten me thinking about my own day to day life and what I can do to make my existence a little bit more fun and to make a little bit more of a difference for others. Read this, and see what impact it will have in your life; your story.

Confederacy Of Dunces

I read this book not sure what to expect and was blown over by how awesome it is. If you have a sense of humor at all then you will no doubt find this book hilarious....every single character in this book is intriguing. The main character, Ignatius, is of course my favorite and the funniest. Socially inept and a know-it-all Ignatius blunders through the book and interacts with the characters in such a wry, witty, achingly comic way that the reader will not be able to forget him or any of the other brilliant characters. I read a lot, and I read a variety of books and if asked what one book I would recommend, it would be this riotously funny and eccentric book. Living with your mother and trying to find a job in New Orleans never was more lively and entertaining!

I haven't read it yet, I usually read about the auther before I buy his book and from the interview he did with Powell's it looks like I'm going to have to read it!
