A wonderful addition to the YA distopian fantasy/fiction genre. This first book in The Testing Trilogy tells the believable story of the future of a world nearly destroyed by war. I look forward to the continuation of the story in Independent Study and Graduation Day scheduled for release in 2014.

Yes, it is truly AWESOMAZING! (see page 151) I know lots of middle grade readers that are going to LOVE this. I can hardly wait for the release of book 2 The Odd Squad series: Zero Tolerance.

My fantasy reading has been very limited (mostly Terry Brooks' Magic Kingdom of Landover series) but I wanted to read this from the first time I glimpsed the cover. I tend not to read reviews when I select books other than maybe a blurb or two to get the basic gist of the story, so, when I started reading this I knew only that (1) it was getting great reviews; (2) it involved dragons; (3) the main character of the story was a girl who was half-dragon and (4) it had an awesome cover. Not being familiar with fantasy novels, I initially struggled with the unfamiliar names given to the characters and places. Fortunately, I discovered a Cast of Characters and Glossery when I turned to the back to find out how many pages were in the novel. I struggled through the first couple of chapters while I adjusted to the writing style but by Chapter 3 I was hooked. I look forward to possibly re-reading this and to the sequel that I hope will follow.

In a word - interesting. Definately a case of picking a book because of its cover. My only complaint was that the story moved slowly at times and I probably would have set it to the side to finish later but couldn't because it was a library e-book with a due date. I would love to see this novel made into a movie....lots of drama.

I loved this book! After having her crayons taken away for a day because she colored on the wall a little girl discovers the colors in the world around her. An awesome read-aloud story that I intend to use for library storytime.

Ever been in an MRI and wondered "What if something goes wrong?" In this debut thriller, Jake's cognitive and physical abilities are altered by his MRI experience and when his new abilities become public knowledge he catches the interest of a terrorist group that will stop at nothing to discover their source. The book is fast-paced and entertaining with a great cast of characters and I look forward to the sequel that is due out in December 2011.
