An unexpectedly sweet story. Interesting array of characters all finding themselves and their way in the world. When I picked up the book, I did not expect so much of the story to focus on sexuality and coming out, and was pleasantly surprised by the different angles and overall positive outlook of the subject matter. An excellent summer read!

The beautiful title of this book drew me in, and I was mesmerized by the setting and language of the story. A very sensory experience of being amid the snowy silence, observing the main character as she searches for family.

This book tells a beautiful story about a horrifying incident. A hard read, but worth it. A kind of justice seems served in shedding light on this bizarre moment in history.

The Grit restaraunt is one of a kind. Any meat-lover will be amazed that such delicious food is all vegetarian! I always have a batch of the Grit yeast gravy in my fridge, as it tastes good on absolutely everything.

I love to have this book lying around the house, so I can pick it up for a moment and browse through a new category of recommendations. If you are ever in a bind about what to read next, this book will not let you down. The only decision to make is which one to read first. This is a very entertaining book for all book lovers.

The Kid: (What Happened After My Boyfriend and I Decided to Go Get Pregnant) an Adoption Story
by
Dan Savage
Catherine Barrett
, January 29, 2007
This story of becoming a father, by the hilarious sex advice columnist, Dan Savage, is full of information and ruminations on such subjects as open adoption, gay/lesbian parenting, Christian fundamentalists and techno music. The humor and intellect with which he approaches an intensely emotional process and controversial subject is inspiring and refreshing. While America debates gay marriage and its impact on the family, this book is a testament to queer parents everywhere.
