Unwise Passions A True Story of a Remarkable Woman & the First Great Scandal of Eighteenth Century America
by
Alan Pell Crawford

This is a very well researched story that reads both as a narrative of history and a shocking accusation of a family well-known in era. With salacious details of the personal lives of some founding fathers, the author adds lots of quotes throughout the book which helps to add to the feel that you can get to know these people from the past. Set in a time of early America, it is a fascinating journey into the life of a courageous woman but also deeply into the politics of the time. Highly recommended!

I found this book by accident and was very moved by it. Barack Obama is an intense, shockingly honest writer that keeps the reader enthralled. I have now bought his second book because this was so well written. Very open about his family and life. Highly recommend!

Surprisingly I read this book in 2 days. I am usually a history book person and thought this would be an easy, beachy read. I was hooked instantly and found it very true to life with some real situations. I definitely felt I was on the journey to discovery with the characters; good, bad, or both. A thought provoking easy read.

The Life of Elizabeth I
by
Weir, Alison

This book is a wonderfully in-depth look at the life of Elizabeth I. While I usually enjoy historical fiction from this time period, this very detailed look into Elizabeth's life fills in many details. There is a great wealth of source material and quotes. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in English history.
