	joseph.o'connor, February 14, 2014 Gallipoli. This battle is one of the main reasons that the Great War evolved into a World War. With the 100th anniversary of WWI just on the horizon, it is important that we remember the brave men and women on both sides of this conflict. The more that we can find out from recovered first hand accounts (like those in this book by Peter Hart)about the Great War, the better we can understand how our past has an impact on our current situation in world affairs. I have a personal interest in new information from WWI since my grandfather was one of the doughboys who made it to Metz just before the armistice of 1918.
