Five Book Friday: In Memoriam
(0 comment)
Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. I saw a bunch of posts as this was in development and also saw a great video of the two editors discussing this project prior to publication. I am asking (repeatedly) for our local public library to purchase it: no luck, so far. Any tips? Very glad this collection is ready for other readers to enjoy! As a feminist sci-fi author myself who grew up reading Octavia Butler and many other feminist sci-fi writers, whom I consider to be my role models, mentors and inspiration, I am pleased to be counted as one among many who appreciate this collection. I host an almost-weekly online, live video talk show, *CHANGES* conversations between authors, and I invite any of these writers to come on my show in 2016! [They won't let me post a link to my website, here, so go to sallyember DOT com to the *CHANGES* tab, FMI.] best to you all! Sally Ember, Ed.D. (author, "The Spanners Series")
