Five Book Friday: In Memoriam
(0 comment)
Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. The Chicken Soup Manifesto: Recipes from Around the World
by
Jenn Louis

Jenn Louis combines her incredible talent as a chef, her love of bringing people together over delicious food, her reverence for other cultures, and her mission to warm your soul via your belly.... all in this wonderful book. She pairs each recipe with a story and some history: a window in to why you should absolutely make that soup and serve it to your friends. The photos are stunning, the instructions down-to-earth, never intimidating. As we hunker down in our kitchens for winter, may chicken soup become the new sourdough, and may this book guide you through!

Portland Oregon Food Crawls Touring the Neighborhoods One Bite & Libation at a Time

If you live in Portland, keep this book in your glove box, pannier, messenger bag, purse, backpack, or just staple it to your body. If you’re visiting Portland, this is the only guide you need to eat well, have fun while doing it, and see some of Portland’s best sites along the way. Absolutely there are plenty of the ‘it’ places to eat in this book. AND there are so, so many of the unsung stars that make Portland so darned delicious. You can taste the love in the food, and see the love that went into this book. Thank goodness for the MFTasty team!
