For folks who want a clear, beautifully-written, honest approach to the way that the US overlays economic class and skin color, this is the book to read. It explains American racism in a manner that makes more sense than anything I've read to date. The best possible book club choice for groups that have the courage to grapple with these topics.

A gorgeously-written, clear argument on the way that the US has intentionally overlaid class and skin color to create a visible caste system. If I had to recommend one book for people to read to better understand racism in the US, this would be it.
