Nursery Rhymes for Kinder Times: Helping to Raise Kind Kids, One Rhyme at a Time! Volume 2 is another cute book for very young readers by Pam Gittleman. I enjoyed volume one of the series and loved catching up once again with the little mice. Each page made me smile seeing different well known nursery rhymes. The pages have a fun and delightful rhythm to them that is easy to bring joy for any aged reader. I like that they teach valuable lessons that guardians and parents can discuss with children. The Unexpected Heiress: A Family Saga From Concentration Camp to Gold Mining Empire is a great debut for author, George Mallory. After reading the blurb, I was curious to see what this saga was all about. I have to admit, it was rather slow at the beginning but after getting through the first few chapters, I was intrigued. I enjoyed getting to know this wealthy family and learning how they became to be. It covers the horrific events from the past all the way to the present times. I believe there will be readers who will be able to understand the family dynamics within the pages and feel a sense of understanding and connection. There was some suspense as lies and secrets are uncovered. I wanted to keep on turning the pages to find out how it would all end for all of the characters. I was not disappointed. I am going to give The Unexpected Heiress: A Family Saga From Concentration Camp to Gold Mining Empire four and a half stars. I believe fans of Jewish and Saga Fiction will want to pick it up and give it a read for themselves. I would be curious to read more like this from George Mallory in the near future. The Frights of Fiji begins Sunayna Prasad’s series, Alyssa McCarthy’s Magical Missions. It is, also, my first introduction to this author’s books. I thought this one was a pretty good read. It was full of adventure, action, and magic. In The Frights of Fiji, readers are introduced to Alyssa McCarthy, who is a 12 years old girl and has been kidnapped by a sorcerer. I found this young girl having so much bravery and courage. I admired her determination to survive. She goes to a whole new world that she never she would experience. I thought her story to be entertaining and fun to read. I enjoyed some of the suspense and mystery of it. I was constantly wondering where she would end up next. I loved the author’s imagination. She crafted such a wonderful tale that so many readers would enjoy. I loved taking this journey with Alyssa. She was a great role model and she learned some very important lessons that so many other readers of all ages could learn from, as well. I am giving The Frights of Fiji four and a half stars. I believe many younger readers who enjoy fantasy will enjoy reading this one. I would have no problem allowing my ten year old reading this book. I know she will think it is as good as I did. I look forward to read the second installment from the Alyssa McCarthy’s Magical Missions series, A Curse of Mayhem, to see where Alyssa ends up next. The Breaks: A Novel is another wonderful novel by Ellen Barker. I can say enough at how much I loved meeting and getting to know the main character, Marianne. She is learning to navigate a "new life" after being dealt with some hardships on the past. As I read on, I was introduced to new friends and neighbors that I felt like I was, also, part of their world. This story was heartwarming to read that made me laugh out loud at times. I loved learning along the way with Marianne of how being resilient, being true to herself, living life to the fullest, and embracing friendships. It was uplifting and inspiring to me and good reminder for myself. I admired her strength and courage as a single woman. I loved every single page of her story and had no problem reading it cover to cover in one sitting. I thought it was an overall fun and entertaining tale. The Breaks: A Novel will be getting a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who love to read Women's Literary Fiction. I would love, love, love to read more by the talented author, Ellen Barker, in the near future. This one is most definitely not one to be missed. I found Rick Lenz's Mit Out Sound to be an entertaining story of Hollywood, film making, conflicts, and aspirations. This is my first introduction to this author and thought his writing style to be unique. I enjoyed getting the characters, particularly Emily Bennett. She was one that could be relatable and easy to connect with. I could understand her feelings when it came to strained personal relationships. Meanwhile, while trying to shoot a movie, she is faced with more complications with the directors and actors. It was an interesting tale that shows the complexities of life and having to deal with bitterness, flaws, secrets, and emotions. I was mostly intrigued with how the author showed a glimpse of how the behind the scenes of movie producing are like. It was a great way for me to spend the last few days while the snow fell outside. Overall, it was a really good read. I am going to give Mit Out Sound four and a half stars. I have no doubt that fans of fiction and enjoy learning about Hollywood will want to pick it up for themselves. I would be interested in reading more like this by Rick Lenz in the near future. I thought this one is a novel that should not be missed and definitely worth reading. Picture A Garden is middle grace non fiction book from Linda Hornberg. I understand that it is being marketed for younger readers but I personally enjoyed it for myself. I found it to be quite informative, useful, and will be handy to hold on to for further reference. The author had a fun way at getting her points across. I am not one that has a green thumb and thought the book made me understand more than before opening it. I thought it was great. I am looking forward to when spring hits and see if I can make something magical happen in the dirt. Picture A Garden has proven to me that the talents of Linda Hornberg does not stop at being an author, she is, also, a gifted artist. I enjoyed seeing all of the illustrations on nearly every page. They were fun to look at and were colorful and eye catching. They were a perfect addition to the book. I am going to give Picture A Garden a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who are between the ages of eight and twelve and love to read non fiction. I would be curious to see what other books Linda Hornberg has in store for her fans. I have loved the first two books from Regan Walker's The Clan Donald Saga and was excited to have the opportunity to read the third installment, The Strongest Heart. I was far from being disappointed. It was a great adventure to travel back in time to Scotland. It was exciting, full of action, intrigue, romance, and history. I loved every single page and did not want to stop reading it until I was completely finished. The Strongest Heart deserved a five star rating. I highly recommend it for readers who love to read Medieval Historical Fiction. I can not wait to continue The Clan Donald Saga with book four, Born to Trouble, to find out what happens next. I found that A Hundred Magical Reasons is a fabulous introduction to Laura DeNooyer's writing. I can say how much I just loved this book. It was a great way for me to start off my 2025 reading. I enjoyed all of the characters and getting to know them. The vivid details made me feel as if I was right there. It intriguing seeing the vision of what L Frank Baum was like in his time. A wonderful tale I did not want to put down until the very end. I am giving A Hundred Magical Reasons a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for fans of dual timeline novels. I enjoyed reading Dave Tabler's second installment from his Delaware History Overview series called, Delaware from Railways to Freeways: First State, Second Phase. I was looking forward to get my hands on book three, Delaware from Freeways to E-Ways: First State; Solid State. I did not hesitate when I had the opportunity to receive a copy. I was not disappointed. The book is rich in history with colorful photographs all throughout. It covers a variety of historical subjects, which includes: museums, world wars, toys, factories, and technologies. I loved learning more and more about the state of Delaware. The photographs provided from the pages are explained more in depth at the end of the book. I thought it was a great and interesting read. My history buff son loved it, as well, and has placed on his own book shelf. Delaware from Freeways to E-Ways: First State; Solid State will be getting a very well deserved five plus stars from me. I highly recommend it for all readers who love to read non fiction particularly those based on the states of Delaware history. I believe it would make a wonderful gift for any Delaware historian. Pilgrims is a good debut novel for author M R Leonard. I have to admit I am not a fan of fantasy and science fiction, particularly those containing aliens. After reading the description, I was not sure if this book would be for me. However, my interest was piqued and I wanted to open the first page to find out if it would be or not. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I did enjoy it. It was full of action and adventure, often thought provoking, with the addition of some suspense. I never would have guessed that I would have liked an alien filled novel this much. The plot was fast paced and easy to keep me engaged. The characters were well developed and relatable. I thought it was a good way to spend the hours away on the cold, snowy days. It is probably one of the best novels from the science fiction genre I have read to date. I am going to give Pilgrims four and a half stars. I have no doubt fans of aliens, science fiction, and fantasy fiction will really enjoy it. I would be interested in other books written by M R Leonard in the future. I thought this one is definitely worth a read and not to be missed. I have searching for a good daily Bible that would be a perfect fit for me. The search is now over when I received a copy of CSB Jesus Daily Bible. I love how it guides me each day, while beginning the week with introductions and ending it with summaries. It is hard cover and includes articles, charts, maps, introductions for each book, and a ribbon marker. I found the version, print, and font is easier for me to read. I look forward to continuing to reading this Bible the rest of the year. CSB Jesus Daily Bible definitely deserves a five star rating. I highly recommend it for those who are are looking for a new way in reading the Bible in a year. I think it would make a great gift, as well. I found The Russian Orphan: They Call Him the White Stallion to be a fabulous debut for author, Deede Blake. It starts off their World Changers series with a bang. It was full of adventure, action and intrigue. It had so many twists and turns I was often on the edge of my seat. It is one of those books that can toy with one’s emotions at times. I liked the sprinkle of humor all throughout. It is a story of love that is forbidden and unexpected, suspense, mystery, I adored the main characters, Sergei and Selena. I wanted to keep reading to find out what could possibly happen from scene to scene. I was initially intimidated with the size of the book but it was forgotten once I began with page one and they continued flow thereafter. I thought it was a fabulous tale to be immersed into and found it to be an unforgettable story. I loved every single page. I am giving The Russian Orphan: They Call Him the White Stallion five stars. I highly recommend it for lovers of adult fiction thrillers. I am eagerly awaiting to see what happens next from the World Changers series to see what happens next. The After starts off the new series by J Taylor, also, called The After. I was hooked right from the start and was intrigued with this story all throughout until the very last page. I am not a huge fan of dystopian fiction but this one held my attention and kept me guessing as to what was to happen next. I have no doubt it would be relatable for pre teen and teen readers. Even though I am not the marketed age for this book, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. I adored the main character Charlotte and taking this journey with her. I found she was courageous, brave, and a good role model. I wanted to see what would happen to her and love that there will be more to come for her in the future. I love that there was a teaser in getting a glimpse into what is to come. I can not wait. I am going to give The After a very well deserved five plus stars. I believe that fans and lovers of Middle Grade / Young Adult / Dystopian Fiction will not want to miss out on reading this one. I am eager to get my hands on the next installment of The After series, Survival, to see what is in store for Charlotte. I found that How to Teach Kids Theology: Deep Truths for Growing Faith by Sam Luce and Hunter Williams to be a must have for families. It is full of commentary, scriptures, illustrations, and inspiration. I like that after each chapter, there are discussion questions for readers can answer. It gave me new tools to use to help teach my own children Biblical truths, principles, and theology. I thought it was a great guide and extremely useful. Cloaked in Beauty is the third installment from Karen Witemeyer's Texas Ever After series. It is a retelling mix of Sleeping Beauty and Little Red Riding Hood. I loved how the author was able to bring these two tales intertwined into a late nineteenth century Texas western. I found the story between Letty and Philip to be fun and entertaining. There were a few plot twists that kept me engaged that kept me want to keep reading. I loved it all the way to the end. Cloaked in Beauty deserves a five star rating. I highly recommend it for readers of fairy tale retellings and clean historical romance. As always, I look forward to the next future release from Karen Witemeyer. I have always loved reading Wanda E Brunstetter's Amish books and was curious to find out that she had teamed up with new to me author, Martha Bolton, to write a mystery. I was excited to get my hands on The Rise and Fall of Miss Fannie's Biscuits: A Cozy Amish Mystery and could not wait to dive in to see what it was all about. I thought it was a just the perfect mix of suspense and mystery that made me want to keep reading to find out how it would all end. I loved it. I enjoyed reading the first book from The Pursuit series by Bethany Rosa, Pursuit of Innocence. I was curious to see what happens in the second installment, Dangerous Pursuit. Even though it is part of a series, I believe that it can easily be read as a stand alone. However, I do not think the first book should be missed. I have to admit that I am not normally a romance reader with detailed scenes that are explicit, but I am glad I did not miss out on reading this story. Since the spicier scenes are not for me, I did choose to skip over them. The storyline itself was fabulous. It had a great mix of drama, action, suspense, mystery, danger, and adventure with twists and turns that I was not expecting. Mia and Jackson had good chemistry together and their interactions were entertaining at times. I wanted to keep reading to find out what would become between the two. An overall good read. I am going to give Dangerous Pursuit three and a half stars. I believe fans of romantic fiction, particularly that are on the more detailed with the steamy scenes, would greatly enjoy it. I would be interested to see what happens next in the third installment from The Pursuit series, The Pursuit of Love. Grammie and Pupa's House is a sweet children's book by Daisy Butterfield. It tells the sweet story of seeing through a granddaughter's eyes of spending time with her grandparents, Grammie and Pupa, at their house. I loved their relationship and learning the lessons with Daisy along the way. It was fun to see what she experiences, such as, cooking with Grammie, or spending outdoors with Pupa. It shows how important for grandchildren to spend time with their grandparents, as well as, grandparents taking the time for their grandchildren. Grammie and Pupa's House is illustrated by the talented artist, Justin Wayoro. The pictures are so vividly colorful, beautiful and appealing to the eye. I believe they are a perfect addition to the book. A great way to hold the youngest of readers' attention all throughout. I am giving Grammie and Pupa's House five stars. I highly recommend it for readers between the ages of four and twelve years old. It would, also, be great for grandparents to read so they can see how important and special it is for grandchild to spend time with them. I think it should be on the shelves of public libraries and be shared again and again. I would love to read more by author, Daisy Butterfield, in the future. Tumult in Mecca: From Civil Servant to Global Business Adventurer: Henrik Bertelsen's Unexpected Journey is the first book I have had the pleasure in reading by author Hans Peter Bech. It, also, begins his The Henrik Bertelsen Saga. It transported me to the late nineteen seventies Copenhagen, Denmark and meeting up with Henrik Bertelsen. He only wants peace and tranquility with his wife and family. However, he gets thrown into the change of the world and having to adjust to new changes. I admired his courage and bravery in adjusting to a new path in life. I enjoyed taking this adventure with him, learning some life lessons, and being inspired by how he chooses to be resilient. I loved the use of humor within the pages that made me smile from time to time. I thought the book was an inspiring one. I am going to give Tumult in Mecca: From Civil Servant to Global Business Adventurer: Henrik Bertelsen's Unexpected Journey four stars. I believe fans of historical fiction will enjoy as much as me if not more. I would be interested in reading more books like this one from Hans Peter Bech in the near future. Family Trust is yet another great novel by the talented author, Peter Wilson. I have read his previous books and jumped at the chance to read this new release. I was not disappointed and found it to be my favorite he has written so far. It was fun to take this journey to the past and present Sidney, Australia and meeting a cast of relatable characters. This novel was full of action, drama, mystery, suspense, and adventure. It had a lot of plot twists and turns that could never had predicted, keeping me on the edge of my seat. It was quite the ride. I liked how the author's use of humor all throughout. It was entertaining to be thrown into different time lines to gather clues as to what happened and how it would be resolved in the end. I was captivated from the start and had to continue on from chapter to chapter. Overall, I thought it was a fabulous story. Family Trust will be getting five plus stars from me. I highly recommend it for fans of action packed thrillers will not want to miss it. I would be interested in reading more releases from Peter Wilson in the future. What Bear Said about Life, Love, and Other Stuff is a great release from new to me author, Jack Wiens. I live in a rural area and live among different wildlife, including bears. I love that the main character in the book to be a bear, conveniently named Bear. He takes his little red headed friend on a adventure teaching him some valuable life lessons. I thought their friendship was so sweet and heartwarming to see. I could not help but to tear up at times and I love the beautiful way Bear described some difficult parts of life. Jack Wiens not only shows his talents as an author, he, also, displays his talents as an artist in his What Bear Said about Life, Love, and Other Stuff. The illustrations of the book were a perfect addition to the story. They were colorful and fun to see Bear's wisdom shine on each page. Crossing Day is yet another great novel by the talented author, William A Glass. I have read his previous books and jumped at the chance to read this new release. I was not disappointed and found it to be my favorite he has written so far. I admire the author's use of his imagination to bring out such a thought provoking tale. I thought the plot was uniquely written that I found to be refreshing to read. It explores many aspects of the lasting affects of history in the United States and deals a lot of "what ifs" or "what could have happened". I love the theme of fighting for injustice and freedom among the group of friends. I did not find it was a long read and it was easy to continue to turn the pages and not put down until I was completely finished. A perfect way to take a break from the stresses of life for a bit. Crossing Day will be getting five plus stars from me. I highly recommend it for teen readers or older who enjoy reading a mix of clean Historical Fiction and Thrillers. I have read many Deedee Cummings' children's books and was pleasantly surprised to find that she has written a self help book for adults. I found How to Dream: A Motivational Guide to a Life of Hope, Success, and Freedom to be the encouragement I have been needing for awhile. It is broken down into ten chapters with each chapter includes: sayings from well known celebrities, commentary, questions to be answered with lines provided, advice, tips, and many inspiring quotes. My favorite part of the book was the one page, large font sized quotes. They definitely popped out the most and made me think. One being, "Growth is motion. Working on your mind is an important part of putting your dream in motion." Another one, "If you are reading these words, take this as your sign from the universe that you were destined to live a big life filled with big dream." These two quotes really resonated with me. I have been working on my own growth as a person and giving myself more positively, while finding my own dreams. I am giving How to Dream: A Motivational Guide to a Life of Hope, Success, and Freedom a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who love to read inspiring self help books. I would love to read more like this from Deedee Cummings in the future. Within the pages, readers will be reading stories and commentary from the author. I liked how she was able to show the importance and value of mentoring and how it can help future generations. I found that Matthew Leslie's debut, The Bad Luck Nickel, to be a pretty good novel. I was quickly immersed in this tale of friendships, finding your dreams, and discovering yourself. I liked getting to know the main characters that I thought were relatable and easy to connect with. The author perfectly portrayed what it is like for teenagers in high school while facing the daily struggles of life. It was a fun and exciting journey for me to take. It great way to escape the chaos of every day of life. It was sometimes quirky, sometimes emotional, and sometimes thought provoking. It was not one that I could predict what would happen from scene to scene. I had to keep turning the pages until I had completely read the whole book. I have had the pleasure of reading previous novels from Jamie Lisa Forbes and was honored to have the opportunity to read her newest release, Sunny Gale. It was fun going back in time and reading about the rodeo days of the time. I admired Hannah (Sunny Gale) right from the beginning with her bravery to do away with convention and being who she wants to be. I love how she was determined to be true to herself and not what is expected to her. The author's use of vivid details to bring the rodeo to life, made me feel as though I was right there seeing and hearing it all for myself. There were a few scenes that made me tear up while others made me want to laugh out loud. I thought this was an outstanding story of courage and history. I could not put it down until it was completely read in one sitting. Sunny Gale will be getting a very well deserved five plus stars from me. Sometimes When I'm Jealous is part of the Sometimes When series by Deborah Serani, ​Psy.D. It tells about a little boy that has a problem with jealousy in variety of ways. I liked how it teaches that it can be normal to be jealous, but, also, shows that it is okay. At the end, I liked that there are useful resources, information, and tips for parents or guardians to help children and toddlers cope with jealousy. I loved that this book deals with a young one's emotions and helps them find ways to feel better. Sometimes When I'm Jealous is beautifully illustrated by artist Kyra Teis. The pictures are visually appealing and perfectly go along with the book. I loved the colorful pages as I continued to turn them. These include inventions of disposable diapers, discoveries of climate change, works of art, and finding treatments for leprosy. It is obvious that Wendy Murphy did her research to bring this book to life. I could not help but to think of the saying "Behind every successful man, stands a strong woman". The Christmas Tree Farm is a fun and quick novella. I was entertained with Madison’s story. It was a delight taking this journey to the quaint little town in Oregon. I have previously had the pleasure of reading Christian fiction and romance that the writing duo, Hope Bolinger and Alyssa Roat, have written. I was instantly curious to see what they young adult series, The Dear Series, was all about. I was not disappointed when I had the opportunity to read Dear Hades. The co authors' have written a fun and entertaining book to read. The format of text messages to tell the story was unique for me. There were a few times I found myself laughing out loud as to what was going on. It was definitely not one that was easy to predict as to what was going to happen next. I enjoyed the interactions between Medusa and Ty. I have to say those two were down right hilarious. I was really pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed their tale. Life Interrupted: Dr. Dua’s Survival Guide is a collection blogs that was written by the gifted Dr Manu Dua. Even though he was diagnosed with cancer in his early thirties, he continued to find peace and accept his destiny. The words he had written were beautiful to read. The passion he had for life shined throughout the series. He showed that no matter what, there is always hope. There are about eighteen entries and are between one and four pages long. I loved each one of them but was mostly drawn to "On Finding Internal Peace". It just really spoke to me and understood what he was saying. I am not going to lie, I often had to keep a tissue handy while reading several of the blogs. I admired his bravery and courage to be able to use wisdom that will inspire many others for years to come. I am saddened of his passing but his legacy will go on. Still Needs Work: A Novel is a fabulous introduction to Ellen Barker's writing. I loved getting to know the relatable character, Marianne and her best friends sidekick canine. Pursuit of Innocence is the debut for new author, Bethany Rosa. She has written a good romance for the main character, Lily. I do enjoy a good romance and this one does not disappoint. I did like the plot of the story, which was engaging and intriguing. The chemistry of the characters was undeniable. Lily is somewhat of a complex character that is faced with finding herself. I felt a little ticked at her at times, as she did not seem to have a clue what she was doing. She could be confusing to me. There are a few twists and turns she was involved that I would not have predicted. I was surprised with the sudden and unexpected suspense that kept me wondering what was going to happen and how Lily would deal with it. I am giving Pursuit of Innocence three and a half stars. The adventures in Squirrels in Antarctica is not just about the squirrels. This book hilariously places animals around the world in the most ridiculous areas that one would not even think of. I never knew what I would find the following page. Not only is it crazy to think of Antarctica being home to squirrels, so is hippos being in my kitchen. Or a starfish in space. I thought this book was quite a bit quirky and really silly but so fun and entertaining. It is always nice to hear the laughter of a little one when they hear or see something so funny. I can see so many kids feel self conscious when going to school and worry about what others think. Sam shows it is okay to let loose to be yourself. I really enjoyed reading S R Fabrico's Call Her Janie, which was the exciting start to their Southport series. I was excited to have the opportunity to get my hands on the second installment of the series, Keeping Janie, to see what could possibly happen next. It was great travelling back to Southport, North Carolina and catching up with Lizzie Levine. I was once again quickly engaged in her story and experienced everything I did in book one. The story took me on a variety of emotions from start to finish. I never knew where the plot was going to lead me to next. There were, of course, some unexpected twists. I believe it was definitely a fast paced page turner. It was a great book to read on a rainy day and escaping everyday stresses of life. I had no problem reading the whole book in a few hours. I am giving Keeping Janie five stars. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy reading romantic suspense and / or woman's fiction. I, also, recommend for the readers to read the books of the series in order to experience Lizzie's story to the fullest. I would love to continue reading more of Lizzie's life and see another addition from the Southport series to release in the near future. I adored seeing Sadie embracing herself in the first book from Joanne Bischof's Suddenly Sadie series and was excited to have the opportunity to read the second installment, Writer on the Wall. It was great catching up to see where she was now and what she was up to. I love how she was tested and witnessing how she was able to overcome her fears and challenges she faced. Roses in December continues the Hamilton Place series by Mark A Gibson. I loved the first book in the series, A Song That Never Ends and was excited to have the opportunity to get my eyes and hands on this one. I was not disappointed. I once again find myself taking a journey with characters that I felt like they were part of my own circle and have come to love. James' story took me on a roller coaster of emotions. I felt tears to my eyes in one moment, while feeling my heart warm at others. An overall beautiful story. I do want to warn readers that since Roses in December is part of a series, it would be best to read the series in order to enhance the reading experience. Readers would miss out on a lot of information from book one, A Song That Never Ends, and may feel a little lost by starting off with this one. I am giving Roses in December a very well well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy reading saga fiction, as well as, historical fiction. I was not sure what to think of Pajama Party in the beginning. Within the first couple chapters, I was hooked. I found this quick story to be inspiring with an element of faith, hope and the power of forgiveness. I love how Karen has grown and made a change for the better. I admire her strength and bravery in trying to help her friends make a change, as well. She took a risk by having a pajama party and inviting old and new friends, as well as, those she was not close to or had been mean to in the past. I am giving Pajama Party four stars. I think many readers would enjoy reading it and find inspiration within the pages. I recommend it, especially for preteen and young teenage readers. They would definitely relate with the characters and what they are going through. Many readers would learn some very important lessons. I received this book from the publisher. Dennis Conrad has written a great children’s book in his new release, The Two Cent Piece. It is, also, the start to his series called In God We Trust. Even though, this is for younger readers, I greatly enjoyed reading it for myself. I have been fascinated by old coins since I was a child and thought it was fun to read a story about the two cent piece. I thought Anne’s story was sweet and inspiring to read and I loved the lessons learned along the way. The Two Cent Piece is beautifully illustrated by the talented artist Courtney Smith. The Confident Hope is the fourth installment from the Hope series by E.C. Jackson. Even though it is part of a series, I believe it can be read as a stand alone. I have enjoyed the previous books of this series and this one does not disappoint. This book shows readers faith, love and hope. I adored getting to know the main characters, Mark and Pamela. I wanted to continue on to see if Mark will come to his senses and see who Pamela really is. I thought they had great chemistry together and was hoping that Pamela will find the confidence she needs and get what she's been longing for. The Certain Hope, the third book from the Hope series by E C Jackson, provides the reader a story of hope, love and faith. I enjoyed getting to know the main character, Tara Simpkins. She is grieving the loss of her parents and dealing with a fragile heart. As she tries to move away from her grief, she finds herself learning how to move forward from her heartbreak and how to follow her dreams. It is an emotional read at times but, also, one that warmed my heart. I found an instant connection to Tara and Luke right from the start. This story is reminiscent of my own life story, which I loved seeing in a book. It was not easy for me to put down and had to keep reading and turning the pages to see how it would end for Tara and Luke. I thought it was great. Laura Frantz is among my favorite authors and was excited to have the opportunity to read her newest novel, The Seamstress of Acadie. I was far from being disappointed. I loved reading Maria Castellucci Moore’s Vivienne in Paris. This new to me author has written an entertaining tale while teaching the readers what can be seen in Paris, France. As soon as I opened the package with Delaware from Railways to Freeways: First State, Second Phase inside, it was struggle to get it back from my twelve year old son’s hands. He loves anything historical and he quickly dove in and started reading it. He greatly enjoyed it with all of the pictures and illustrations that is throughout the whole book. Twin Power is a delightful tale by the writing duo, Benjamin Young MD and Kiyanda Young MD. It is the start of their series, also, titled Twin Power. I loved reading about Sebastian and Simone. I could just picture a young toddler giggling throughout this book as it is read to them out loud. I thought it was delightful. I have had the pleasure of reading previous works from the talented author Bob Rogers and was pleased to know I had the opportunity to read his Two Rivers: De Trouble I Be See. I was in no way disappointed. This is story that shows the horror of slavery on an antebellum of the state of South Carolina. The vivid historical details the author shows the readers how the characters lived during that time. Throughout the novel, I was faced with the torture, torment, and punishments the slaves had to endure to ensure the plantation owner becomes a successful wealthy man. This is not an easy book to read, it was difficult at times to see through the eyes Posey of what the enslaved people went through in those times. I believe this book is an important one to read. It may be have been a work of fiction but based on the shocking events in America’s history. I am giving Two Rivers: De Trouble I Be See a very well deserved five plus stars. First Dark: A Buffalo Soldier's Story is a fabulous introduction to the talents of Bob Rogers. I have not heard a lot about Buffalo Soldiers before and I found this story to be intriguing and fascinating to learn a little more about them. It was a nice change and refreshing to read something different. It was full of danger, action, suspense, and adventure. The author obviously did an excellent job on his research to bring Isaac and other characters to life. I liked the author’s writing style and the historical details were so vivid that made me feel as though I was transported back in time to Isaac’s time. The hardships he endured through his life, from the horrors of slavery, battles, and wars. I saw him as a hero and admirable character to follow. Overall, I thought this a great book to read. First Dark: A Buffalo Soldier's Story is most definitely a five star read. I believe lovers and readers of historical fiction based on the history of the United States will want to give this one a try. I have no doubt that they will love it as much as me. Against the Wind is the second installment from the Secrets of Sweetwater Crossing series from Amanda Cabot. I loved the first book from the series, After the Shadows, and loved this one even more. As a lifelong reader and half a decade professional reviewer, I have been interested more and more about writing my own book. However, I had no idea how, when or where to begin. I jumped on the opportunity when I had the chance to read Creating Stories. The author, Hank Quense, did a great job in answering some questions I have had on how to get started. He explains the ideas and design that is important for story telling. As well as, the importance of character development and the depth of the main and sub plots. He includes illustrations, graphs, charts, and diagrams to back up his explanations, tips, and advice. They were quite useful for me to understand in depth in what he was explaining to his readers. I found the book made me feel more inspired and confident on jotting down my ideas on creating my own story. I will be holding on to my copy to keep it handy as I navigate into this new journey for me. I am giving Creating Stories five stars. Mortal Weather: A Novel is a beautiful debut for new and talented author K P McCarthy. After reading this engaging novel, I hoping there will many more to come. He has crafted a story that made me feel as though it was my own. Seeing what Stanhope has endured and his grief, I saw so many comparisons of myself. All throughout the book, there were times I had to pull out the tissues, while others made my heart warm. I loved meeting the different people along the way and learning about each one, while watching Stanhope grow as a person. I enjoyed going on this adventure with him, finding hope even through the greatest of pain and heartache. I believe so many other readers would find this book to be relatable for them and feel a connection with Stanhope. Mortal Weather: A Novel will be getting a very deserved five plus stars from me. I have read the previous books from Evy Journey’s Between Two Worlds series and was looking forward to the newest and sixth release, The Golden Manuscripts. Even though this is a series, I believe each one can be easily read as a stand alone, but I would recommend not missing any of the previous books. The Golden Manuscripts is most definitely my favorite of the six installments. I found it to be a fun and entertaining. Clarissa’s story was intriguing. I instantly felt a connection with her while she tried to find where she belonged. I liked the mix of art, history, mystery, and suspense. I wanted to keep reading to find out what secrets there were to be discovered and where it would Clarissa to in the end. It was one that I had no problem spending the day, relaxing on my back deck, and reading the whole book in one sitting. A wonderful way to spend time away from the chaos of life. I loved it. I adored A Beautiful Story: Jesus & St. Nick by Sarah French. I love how it tells the story of the birth of Jesus, as well as, the real story of Saint Nicholas. I found this book to be a precious read for children to learn the history of the reason for the season and how Santa Claus became to be. There are Bible verses and prayers included that teaches children. I thought it was just what the title says, A Beautiful Story. I believe it would be a perfect addition for the annual Christmas time reading from the youngest to the oldest of readers. I loved it. A Royal Christmas is a delightful modern day fairy tale by Melody Carlson. I enjoyed this quick story and meeting Adelaide. On every page, I could not help but think that it would be a perfect Christmas Hallmark movie to be watched year after year. I loved travelling to the charming Montovia. I thought this was a delightful and heartwarming romance. At just under one hundred seventy pages, it was easy to have the whole book read in one sitting. It was great. I liked Starla’s character and enjoyed seeing what she is capable of as she takes on a new magical world, power, and discovered talents. There are secrets to be revealed and there is the good vs evil aspect of it, as well. I found that many of the scenes were unpredictable and I never knew what could possibly happen next. I admired the courage, determination and bravery of Starla and seeing her grow as she finds herself from start to finish. At around one hundred sixty pages, it was easily read in one sitting. I had to keep reading on to see what would happen with Amelie and where she would end up. She is such a courageous character. I thought it was an unique one and fun to see through the eyes of the first human to ever ride a horse during ancient times. It was a pleasure to be transported back in time by six thousand years and meet the strong willed daughter of a clan chief, Naya. I admired her bravery and determination. I found her character to be one that would be a good role model for present day young girls and woman. She proves to herself and others that it is okay to be different, have the ability to embrace yourself, follow your dreams, and do not give up. I thought it was wonderful book to read. C S McDonald does it again in the seventh installment from her Fiona Quinn Mystery series, Saddle Up for Murder. I loved the cover to it. I thought it was funny to see and look forward to what kind of dilemma the characters get into this time. Even though this is part of a series, in my opinion, it can be read as a stand alone, but I believe that each book should be read in order that would give more of an enjoyable experience. In Saddle Up for Murder, once again involves Fiona and Detective Landry trying to solve a murder, but this time they travel to the state of West Virginia. It was a delightful and entertaining mystery to get into with them. With only just over one hundred and seventy pages, I had no problem reading it in one sitting. I found it to be a fun book to read that had a few humorous scenes within the pages. I thought it was great. I am giving Saddle Up for Murder a very well deserved five plus stars. Mother Knows Worst is a fun debut for author Sofia Bella Roma. I found it to be entertaining and fun book to read. The historical details were so vivid, I felt like I was right there within the action. I loved Hank, Jimmy, and Bill‘s story. I loved reading the beginning of the Fiona Quinn Mysteries series by the talented author, C S McDonald. I was excited to have the opportunity to read the second book, Merry Murder. I was not disappointed. Since, this is a series, it can be read as a stand alone, however I find that it would be best to read the books in order. I loved catching up with the character, Fiona Quinn, and her love, Detective Nathan Landry. It was delight to read that this is set during the magical time of the year, only for them, it is a deadly one. Once again, the couple is joined by Fiona’s mom, Nancy, to solve a murder. Nancy cracked me up all through this tale. I think she may have stole the show in this one. I thought this was an enjoyable book to read and it was a pleasure to read. It is only about one hundred thirty pages long, making it a great way to spend a short break during the day. I am giving Merry Murder a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy reading clean, fun, and entertaining cozy mysteries. Murder on Pointe is a great start to the Fiona Quinn Mysteries series by C S McDonald. I thought it was a delightful and entertaining little mystery to solve. I loved meeting Fiona. I thought Aqua Paws made a fun, entertaining, and sweet character while exploring the unknown. I love how Aqua Paws was able to show their bravery, determination, and learning to trust those who are different from themselves. They learn and teach us all readers – young and old some valuable and important lessons, including the troubling effects of contaminating the worlds’ oceans, I enjoyed meeting all the sea creatures featured inside the pages and seeing the new friends that Aqua Paws discovered on their journey. I really enjoyed reading Jordan H Bartlett’s first book from their The Freans Chronicles series, Contest of Queens, and was excited to have the opportunity to read the second installment, Queen's Catacombs. I was far from being disappointed. Since this is part of a series, I advise to other readers to make sure to read the first book before beginning this one. The storyline would flow so much better for them and increase their enjoyment in reading it. It was wonderful catching up with the main character, Jacs, and seeing she is now Queen of Frea. I liked the mystery and suspense that she gets involved in to find the long held secrets of the Queendom. I was intrigued with the author’s imagination ability in bringing this story to life. This was quite the journey to go on with Jacs and she proves once again what a brave and courageous woman she is. I was entertained all throughout and had no issue wanting to keep turning the pages. I loved it. I am giving Queen's Catacombs five stars. I highly recommend it for readers who are fans of the fantasy genres. I am hoping there will be a third addition to The Freans Chronicles series, as well as, seeing more releases from Jordan H Bartlett in the near future. Mabel is Cheryl Wright‘s contribution to the multi author Mail Order Bride series. I have always adored reading this author‘s books. So, it was no surprise how much I loved this one. Mabel finds herself in danger and suddenly finds safety she was needing with Earl. Their tale was heartwarming as they tried to figure out the new life that was thrown at them. I loved seeing what would become of them in the end. A beautiful and wholesome read. Mabel will be getting five stars from me. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy a clean, historical romance. I look forward to the next installment from the Mail Order Bride  series, Linda, Carroll-Bradd's, Treise. As well as, more books to come from Cheryl Wright. Contest of Queens is a great start to The Frean Chronicles series. It is the first book I have had the pleasure of reading by the new to me author, Jordan H. Bartlett. I am not a huge fan of the fantasy fiction and / or science fiction genres, however, I was quite intrigued with the cover of this one and wanted to give a try. I am so glad I gave it a chance. I was not disappointed at all. I adored getting to know Jacs. I loved her determination and bravery all throughout the tale. I thought the author did a fabulous job in creating a beautiful and believable new world. The descriptions of the settings made me feel as though I was placed right there among Jacs’ story. It was an honor to take this adventure and journey along with Jacs as she fights for her Queendom. I am giving Contest of Queens four and a half stars. I recommend it for readers who enjoy reading young adult novels, particularly, those from the fantasy fiction genre. The Registration is the first book I have read by the new to me author, Madison Lawson. I admired her talent to come up with an outrageous plot and able to make into a believable storyline. I was intrigued with Lynell from the start. She gets involved with quite the situation and mystery to find out who wants her gone, as well as, who she can trust. I admired her bravery, courage, and determination to survive. This was a thrilling ride to go on. There were a lot of events that I could not have predicted. The many twists and turns had my head spinning. There was a lot of action packed danger and full of adventure. I never knew what could possibly happen next. This was one of those books that constantly asking myself if the impossible could actually could one day be a real possibility. It was one I had a hard time putting down until I had the whole book read in one sitting. It will be placed among my favorite read of the year. I am giving The Registration five plus stars. I believe readers and fans of science fiction thrillers would be interested in reading it. I highly recommend it. I would love to see what other upcoming books by Madison Lawson will be releasing. I have been a fan of Ginny Baird for quite some time, and was excited to have the opportunity to read her newest release, Right Girl, Wrong Side. I was in no way disappointed. Author S S Turner has written an interesting tale in their newest release, The Connection Game. It is the type of book I would not normally read, but I did find it to be an enjoyable read and one to be definitely worth reading. It was fun in meeting Benny Basilworth. I admired him and his determination in making connection that many would not be able to make. There were quite a few scenes that had me laughing out loud, giving me the appreciation that I am able to read it in the privacy of my own home, instead of embarrassing myself out in public. I thought the story of Benny and his family was one that kept me engaged most of the time. And I felt honored to spend a couple of hours with them. I know many other readers will, also, want to read this heartwarming story. It is perfect example why readers should go outside their comfort zone and read something they would not normally read. Overall, I thought this was a pretty good book. I am giving The Connection Game four and a half stars. I recommend it for readers who enjoy reading fiction filled with satire and humor. FlightLog: The Novel Adventures of a Stewardess Wannabe Who Becomes a Flight Attendant is a fun and entertaining tale by Susan Humphrey. It is the first book I have had the pleasure of reading by this author. I would be interested in reading more releases by her after this introduction. It was a delight to read Sherri’s story and going back in time to the time of my childhood. It was a great to be smiling all throughout the book. There were quite a bit of laugh out loud moments for me. I found it to be intriguing to get a glimpse at the business of the flight industry. What's Not Lost is the third and final installment from Valerie Taylor’s delightful What’s Not series. I enjoyed reading the first two books, What’s Not Said and What’s Not True, and was excited to have the opportunity to read this conclusion. It is by far my favorite of the series. Since this is part of a series, it would be best for the reader to start with book one to get a better understanding of the story. I loved reading What’s Not Lost. I found it to be a fun and entertaining book to read. The comedic timing of some scenes had me laughing out loud. It was great catching up with Kassie and seeing where she was at now. I wanted to keep reading and rooting for her all throughout the book. I admire her determination and courage to move on from unexpected events that was thrown at her life in life. I was sad to say goodbye to her and having the series to end. Such a wonderful and fabulous adventure to take with her. I am giving What's Not Lost five stars. I recommend it for readers who enjoy reading women’s fiction, as well as, romantic comedies. Traveling Tootsie is a cute little story for young readers by Karen and Kathy Honaker. It was fun to travel around the Washington DC area with Katie and Steven’s teddy bear, Tootsie. I thought it was a great way to show the different sites around the United State’s capital city. I believe so many little ones will be entertained and let out a few giggles to see where else Tootsie would go to next. I thought it was a great learning experience for the reader, as well as, a heartwarming tale to read. I really liked it. Traveling Tootsie is illustrated by the talented artist Chiara Civati. I found the pictures to be beautifully colorful and visually appealing for a little ones’ eyes. I thought they were a perfect addition to help to tell the story. They are, also, a nice way for the smallest of readers to continue to stay interested in what is going on with Tootsie. I am giving Traveling Tootsie five stars. The Adventures of Lefty and Righty: The Windy City is an entertaining children’s book by author Lori Orlinsky. It was fun taking an adventure with Lefty and Righty throughout the city of Chicago. I found myself giggling along the way as they journey in the city to get to the White Sox game on time. They come across other destinations and surprises that I found amusing and delightful. I thought it was a great book to read and learning a little about this windy city and seeing through the eyes of Lefty and Righty. The Adventures of Lefty and Righty: The Windy City is illustrated by the talented artist, Kenn Vidro. Their pictures perfectly follow along with the story giving a wonderful visual of the words on each page. They are bright and vivid that will hold a younger readers attention all throughout the book. It was full of adventure that made me captivated with Flash and Kyla’s tale. I adored their friendship and trust between the two. It was beautiful to see how human and pony were able to such a perfect team and good role models. The plot is full of inspiration that would be a wonderful influence on the younger readers. Lauren Carr is among my favorite mystery writers. She knows how to write a fun tale while keeping readers engaged. I was excited to have the opportunity to read her newest release to her A Chris Matheson Cold Case Mystery series, Chris Crossed Murder. I was far from being disappointed. It was great catching up with Chris, his family, friends and his country and western music loving sidekick, Sterling. Oh my goodness that Sterling, the German Shepherd, steals the show in every book in the series. He really cracks me up. Chris Crossed Murder had a lot going on in the beginning but as the events unfold, everything ties into one another nicely. I loved how Ms Carr’s imagination was able to come up with such a believable story. I was intrigued with this mystery and the build up of the suspense kept me interested. With the mystery, action, danger and adventure, there were still plenty of laughs and comraderies between the family and friends involved. I loved every single page that I could not put down. Colorado Cowboys series has become among my favorite series written by Jody Hedlund. The Last Chance Cowboy is the fifth and final installment from it. I adored this book so much. I loved the chemistry between Catherine and Dylan and it was so heartwarming how much they bonded over precious Austin. I had no problem devouring their whole story in one sitting. Such a beautiful tale of love, hope, faith and forgiveness. I am giving The Last Chance Cowboy a very well deserved five plus stars. When the Smoke Cleared: A Murder Mystery in Malden is a fascinating and gripping book from talented author, Bill Powers, based on true events. I am true crime buff and was instantly engrossed in reading this book. It was interesting to get a look at the victim’s life, how the events affecting the family, the investigation into the murder, and eventual trial. It covers the crime scene all the way to convictions, as well as update on everyone involved afterwards. I mostly was fascinated by the investigation and getting a glimpse at how the authorities and professionals were able to find a conclusion to the case. It is such a tragic story to read of young life unnecessarily cut short and seeing how it affected so many. When the Smoke Cleared: A Murder Mystery in Malden will be getting a very well deserved five plus stars from me. I believe readers and fans of true crime will most definitely want to pick this one up. I know they will find the process of this investigation to be engaging. Fool Her Once is the first book I have read by the talented author, Joanna Elm. After reading this one, it will not be the last book I read by her. I thought it was a pretty good book to read. It was full of thrills, mystery, action, danger and suspense. There were a few twists and turns that I could not have predicted and had me gripping the edge of my seat. I was instantly immersed in Jenna’s story and was entertained by taking this roller coaster ride with her. I wanted to keep reading to find out what would happen to Jenna and how it would all conclude for her in the end. Overall, I thought it was a great book to read. Randall Bell has written an information book with his release of Post Traumatic Thriving: The Art, Science, & Stories of Resilience. As someone who has experienced trauma myself, I was looking forward to reading this book. It was interesting to read other people’s stories and learning about their healing. Though it was inspiring to read their stories, it could be a little repetitive and excessive at times and found myself wanting to skim over them and move past them. The author gives some helpful ways to thrive and learn the power of healing. There were variety of graphics that helped me to get a visual as to what the author is trying to convey in his writing. I found Two Floors Above Grief: A Memoir of Two Families in the Unique Place We Called Home by Kevin M. O'Connor to be a pretty good read. It was interesting to read about the author’s upcoming living above a funeral home. Though living in a business that brings so much sadness, I love how he was able to show the happy times growing up, as well. All throughout the book, I was able to get to see through his eyes of events that unfolded during this time, particularly during the mid twentieth century. I found the story was fascinating and I loved getting to know him and his family. It was interesting to meet everyone in his life at the time and what it was like for them all. I believe that the book would definitely be a treasure for the family historians in his family. The Key to Circus Mom Highway is the first book released by the talented author, Allyson Rice. It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to read her debut. I thought it was a great read. I enjoyed getting to know the main characters, Jesse and Jennifer. They wound up going on an adventure they would have never imagined. It was fun taking this journey through the southern United States and finding out the discoveries that awaited them. They have to learn things about the mother they really never knew and truths they have to face, as well. It was interesting and entertaining to see what all they came across. There were a few laughs all throughout the book. I wanted to keep reading until the very end to see how it would all turn out for them and what they learned about themselves, their mother, family and life. I thought it was fabulous to read. Anita Higman’s A Love Most Precious: 90 Devotions on the Book of Ruth is a wonderful devotional to read. The devotions are short but full of scripture and faith. Each one are only about two pages long and include a verse from the book of Ruth in the Bible, commentary about Ruth associated with the verse and a prayer. Every few pages there is a Pausing for Proverbs that includes a Proverb, how it is associated to Ruth and a prayer. I thought they were all fabulous to read and I felt inspired by reading it. I am giving A Love Most Precious: 90 Devotions on the Book of Ruth a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who are looking for short devotions to work into their busy schedules and still find a way to study the word of God. Scattered Legacy: Murder in Southern Italy, another great addition to the Annalisse series, by Marlene M Bell. Even though this is part of a series, I believe readers can read it as a stand alone. The book gives enough information to keep readers up to date on what is going on. I enjoyed reading the first two books, Stolen Obsession and Spent Identity, could not wait to get my hands on this one. It was entertaining to catch up with Annalisse and Alec and take this journey with them to the beautiful country Italy. The pair are once again faced with a murder mystery. One that could change everything for their future. I was quickly enthralled with this tale and wanted to find out how it would all be solved, with a few twists that I did not see coming. I wanted to keep reading until I read the very last page. I thought it was great. I am giving Scattered Legacy: Murder in Southern Italy five plus stars. Yesterday's Tides is another fabulous read by Roseanna M White. It gives me an additional reason why she has become one of my go to authors. Lulu and Malek: Sail Off to Sea! is a cute picture book for young readers. I loved how the talented authors, June Foster and Rob Scheer, wrote a sweet tale of adventure. It shows the beauty of the earth. It was fun to see these reminders for the reader, including the oldest of readers. There were a few pages that made me smile and chuckle. I thought it was a great story to read and enjoyed taking this journey with Lulu and Malek and experience it with them. Lulu and Malek: Sail Off to Sea! is beautifully illustrated by the gifted artist Gill Giule I enjoyed seeing their pictures as I go along with the story. I thought the vivid and colorful illustrations go perfectly with the written text on each page, which would be a wonderful way for younger readers to hold their attention better. Laura Frantz is among my top five favorite authors to read. I jumped at the chance to have the opportunity to read her newest release, The Rose and the Thistle. I was far from disappointed. I loved the vivid historical details that made me feel as though I was part of the story. It was great being transported back to the eighteenth century and meeting Lady Blythe and Everard. I was instantly sucked into the suspense, danger and mystery. This is not one of those books that can be easily predictable and I never knew what would happen next. I was intrigued from the start and could not put the book down until the end. I loved it. The Rose and the Thistle will be receiving a very well deserved five plus stars from me. I found that Lauren Piland’s Blooming Rose Blasts Off to be a sweet children’s story. I loved getting to know Rose and seeing her gain courage as she tries something new. She learns some great lessons that so many readers – young and old – can learn from. I thought it was a sweet way to show to never give up and continue to have the determination toward a goal. I really liked that Rose had that she had that encouragement that needed from those around her. That is another lesson that we can all learn from. Encouraging one another can be just as rewarding when witnessing someone accomplish something that seems to be the impossible. I loved really book so much. Blooming Rose Blasts Off is beautifully illustrated by the talented artist, Kristen Humphrey. I loved seeing the vivid pictures as I go along with the words on each page. TEXT Bible is a great Bible for youth. My eleven year old has been reading the Bible every evening recently and really has enjoyed reading through this version. The scriptures are easy to read for him to understand, which I love. In the margins, there are dotted lines for notetaking, as well as, on various pages, there are boxes of text threads, Get to Know the TEXT, and Text the TEXT. It includes two different satin ribbon markers that help with bookmarking. In the back of the TEXT Bible there are several helpful reference guides, such as: Prophecies Fulfilled at the Cross, Hashtags, Reading Plans, Concordance, and Maps. The last couple of years, I have gone through quite a bit that brought my self confidence and worth down quite a bit. I have been fighting myself back to find out who I was again and this book is just what I needed. After reading it, I felt myself feeling more optimistic and embolden. In order to be a success in life, I have to love myself, be more self aware, know its okay to make mistakes, and take control over my thoughts. The book is only just over seventy pages long and a perfect way to take a break and learn about myself. I loved it. I have had the pleasure in reading the previous two books from the Empire of the House of Thorns series, Shadows Over London and Justice at Sea. Justice at Sea is the second installment from the Empire of the House of Thorns series by Christian Klaver. I really enjoyed reading the first book, Shadows Over London, and was excited to have the opportunity to read to see what is coming for Justice this time. I was in no way disappointed. I realized that since this is a series, it would be best for readers to begin with the first book to make it a better experience in continuing Justice’s story and not be missing out on what occurred previously. Shadows Over London is a pretty good start to Christian Klaver’s new series, Empire of the House of Thorns. Engaging Deception is the third installment from Regina Jennings’ delightful series, The Joplin Chronicles. Even though this is part of a series, it can still be read as a stand alone. A Dress the Color of the Moon is the second installment from The Dress series written by the talented author, Jennifer Irwin. This is the first experience I have had reading anything by this author. Since I have not had the chance to read her first book from her The Dress series, A Dress the Color of the Sky, I believe this one can be read as a stand alone. I thought it was a good book to read. It tells the story of addictions, the struggles of recovery and learning to face the affects of addictions on those around. I believe Prudence’s fight against a relapse was one that many could relate to. I admired her courage as she tries to get away from the doubt and anxiety she experiences. Run with the Hare, Hunt with the Hound is an interesting read by Paul M. Duffy. This is my first experience in reading books by this talented author. The writing style is different to me and took a little bit getting used to. The plot is unique, as well. Once I got through the first five chapters, I was hooked and did not want to put it down. I enjoyed going back to the 1100s Ireland. As a granddaughter of an Irish immigrant, I was fascinated in learning more about my Irish heritage. It was fun to learn about Ireland’s culture, history and mythology. Mr Duffy has done his research in bringing this tale alive. I was entertained by taking this journey in seeing the good and bad of those days of the past. The details were so vivid that I felt as though I was transported back in time and living right there. I have had the pleasure of reading previous books by Bryan K Prosek and was excited to have the opportunity to read his release, A Measure of Serenity. Night of Mysterious Blessings is a cute children’s book by Sally Metzger. It tells an inspiring story of how to worry less and have more trust in God. I like the Christian theme and it’s teaching the importance to younger children of God’s love. I found it was soothing tale that can help with anxiety and stress of worrying or the fear of what is to come. I think so many little readers will find this book to be a comfort and will bring them peace that they are needing. I like the rhyming verse style that at times will provoke some giggles from time to time. Such a sweet and heartwarming story to read. I loved it. The Brighter the Stars is a great start to the Earth United series. It is a wonderful way to be introduced to the writings of the talented Bryan Prosek. It was a fun journey to go one hundred and sixty years into the future. I am not a huge fan of the science fiction genre but I was quickly interested in this story. I was quite the adventure to take with the main characters, Jake, Diane and Cal. There were a lot of plot twists and turns that I could not have predictable. I liked the build up of some suspense in a few scenes. I never knew what would become of the characters from page to page. Explorer Bible for Kids is a fabulous Bible for kids. My eleven year old son confiscated mine as soon as I received my copy in the mail. He has been carrying it around ever since and reads it every evening before bed. Each book of the Bible includes a page that answers the following questions: who wrote it, the targeted audience, and where, why and when it was written. The pages have vibrant and colorful pictures and illustrations of foods, animals, and plants of the day, geographical, histories, archeology, the characters, facts, and QR codes for further reading. The back of the Bible has charts, a glossary, indexes, and maps. It has a satin ribbon attached to help mark last page read. My son loves it and constantly have questions and looking up for information for him. I found the Bible a great way to inspire him and gives him a better understanding of God’s word. Lifeway Women's Bible is a great Bible to read. It is easy to read that gave me a better understanding of the text. Within the pages, there is inspiring commentary, A Closer Look at …, Character Profiles, graphs, ancestral trees, maps, and articles. At the end of this Bible there are reading plans, a Daily Bread schedule for the year, index, and more maps. I like that they are two separate satin ribbons that can be used to mark my spot in the Old Testament, as well as, the New Testament. I enjoyed going through this Bible and am looking forward to start the reading plans and Daily Bread schedule at the beginning of the year. Grady Whill and the Templeton Codex: A Superhero High School Adventure is another fun and adventurous book written by the talented author Carole P Roman. It was entertaining getting to know the main character Grady Whill and his friends. I loved his narration of this story and enjoyed his humor sprinkled throughout the book. This middle grade fiction has a lot of adventure and action, along with some lessons to be learned that so many of us could learn from or be reminded of. It was great taking this plot twisting journey with Grady and the other characters for a few hours and had no problem at all having it all read in one day. I am giving Grady Whill and the Templeton Codex: A Superhero High School Adventure a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who are between the ages of nine and fourteen and enjoy reading about superheroes. Sunny Weber has written yet another dog training tool in her release of City Dog Walking Safety and Etiquette. It provides some excellent pointers for those who walk their dogs through neighborhoods and urban areas. It gives several scenarios on what to do and what not to do. These include: dogs pulling, dealing other dogs that are not securely leashed, being greeted by bicyclists, coming across wildlife, and circumstances when your favorite canine goes crazy over every little thing. Sunny Weber gives some tips that would help to cope with these and other scenarios. It is important to teaching your loving furry friend good manners and practicing safety precautions will make a fun, stressful and uneventful bonding moment with them. All throughout the book are illustrations that will help the reader to better understand what the author is trying to convey. I thought this was a great book to have on hand, as well as, would be a great gift for new dog owners or for ones who are struggling with their furry pal. Targeted is a collection of three romantic suspense novellas written by three of the top Christian suspense writers. The collection includes: In On the Run by Lynette Eason In Deadly Objective by Lynn H. Blackburn In Caught in the Crosshairs by Natalie Walters I loved this collection and could not pick my favorite of three. It would be a hard choice to do so. Every one of them are full of action, suspense, mystery, adventure, unpredictable twists and turns and, best of all, romance. The whole book is one that is not easily to put down. As a dog owner myself and often dog sit for his female litter mate, Bella. She is the sweetest and most lovable dog with her owners and my family. However, she is quite nervous, anxious and shows some signs of aggression toward others. They Met in a Tavern is the first book from the Glinchasers series and my first experience with the talents of Elijah Menchaca. I am not a huge fan of the fantasy and science fiction genre but I was fascinated by the cover and blurb peaked my interest and wanted to give it a try. A Knock on the Door is my first introduction to the talents of author Roberta K Fernandez. After reading this one, it will not be the last. Lori Crawford’s world gets shattered when her husband of twenty five years is taken from her in a horrific accident. As she begins to heal from losing Jack, his accidental death comes into question and evidence points that he was possibly murdered. Lori teams up with Jack’s assistant, Rita to find out the circumstances of his death, what really happened and who could have wanted him dead. The two gets sucked into a lot of danger, adventure, and action. There were a lot of twists and turns that made my head spin. I had to keep reading to see what they would find out, how it would all end for them and if they would make it out alive. It was great! I am giving A Knock on the Door four and a half stars. Kimberly Kearns does not hold back in her On The Edge of Shattered. I admired her courage in telling her story and determination to help those who are affected by alcohol and addictions. She tells how she took back her power and how she faced her demons and trauma by getting sober and learning how to heal. She was able to come to realize how she needed to do so for herself and able to break the chains to become free from it. I know so many readers would be able to connect with the words within the pages and understand the struggles the author endured to find her freedom. Other readers would get a better understanding how many become so dependent on alcohol and other substances. I know I have learned to be less judgmental and more compassionate by reading the author’s story. I am giving On The Edge of Shattered a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy reading memoirs and how people are able to overcome turmoil, trauma and addictions in their lives. Violet is the Cheryl Wright’s contribution and the fourteenth installment from the multi author Runaway Brides Of The West series. What a perfect addition to the series it is. I enjoyed going back in time to the old west and meeting Violet, Andrew and Brandon. I loved how brother Andrew and his best friend, Brandon (her secret admirer), both would do anything to keep Violet safe. The interactions between her and Brandon were so fun and entertaining at times. It was delight to keep reading to see how it would end for them all. I loved it. Brotherhood By Fire is the first book I have read by the talented author,Lindy Bell. After reading this one, it definitely will not be the last. I was hooked into Andy’s story within the first couple of chapters. I was intrigued with him, found him to be relatable and wondered what was going to happen to him in the end. I had no way of predicting the outcome at all. This is one of those books that will toy with the reader’s emotions. I warn other readers to keep their tissues close by because if they are anything like me, I guarantee they are going to those tissues handy. I did not want to put this book down. I had no problem reading the whole tale within two evenings. I got little sleep those two nights but it was well worth it. I loved every single page. Tomboy is the second installment from Shelley Blanton Stroud’s Jane Benjamin series. I enjoyed reading the first book in the series, Copy Boy and was happy to have the opportunity to read the continuation of the series. I thought it was a good read. It was interesting to travel back in time to the late 1930s and catching up with Jane to see where she was at in this stage in her life. Once again, she finds herself that she wishes she would not be a part of. The first couple of chapters were a little slow but once I got past there, I was hooked and wanted to keep reading to see what she would find out on what happened and who done it. I was often left guessing on how it would all conclude. I was engaged and interested most of the time. I thought it was a great read. I giving Tomboy four and a half stars. After reading Mark Zvonkovic first book from his The Raymond Hatcher Stories series, A Lion in the Grass, I was excited to have the opportunity to read the second installment, The Narrows. I enjoyed Inside Your Heaven: Inspiring Stories of the Afterlife so much more than I would have thought when I first picked it up. I like that it was not overpowering on preachy topics and uses different diverse opinions and thoughts. It was one that offers hope that I have been seeking within myself for a while now. The book is quite short and so easily to read in just a few short hours and should be read again and again. Life's Journey our Greatest Test: A Contemporary Christian Novel is another fabulous piece of fiction by Marshalee Patterson. She has a way of drawing her readers in and make them see themselves in the characters. I loved Brady and Sara’s story so much. I could understand Brady’s struggles and was hoping he would find the the peace he so desperately needed in his life. Such a great tale to read. Deception is the fourth installment from Patricia Bradley’s Natchez Trace Park Rangers series. I have enjoyed the first three books in the series and enjoyed this one so much more. I thought Madison and Clayton made a great team and had to see what surprises were in store for them in each scene. It was not easily predictable and had to keep reading on to see “who done it” in the end. This one is by far my favorite of the series. I loved it. I am giving Deception five stars. Child of Etherclaw starts off the first book from the Etherclaw series by Matty Roberts. It is, also, my experience in reading anything by this author. Even though, I am not a huge fan of sci fi tales, I was still intrigued with the cover and had to open it up to find out what it was all about. I thought it was a really good read. I enjoyed being taken to another world for a while and escape everyday life for a few hours. I loved the characters of Fenlee and Elliot. The author does a great world does a great job describing the fictional settings that made me feel as though I was right there taking the same journey. The book was full of adventure, danger, mystery and suspense. It was not one that I could easily guess as to what was going to happen next and had to keep reading until the end. Child of Etherclaw will be getting four stars from me. I know readers and fans of young adult, fantasy, dystopian and science fiction will want to snatch this one up. I believe they will not be disappointed. I will be on the lookout for the release of the next installment from the Etherclaw series to see where Matty Roberts’ imagination will take their readers to next. Court of Snakes: This Desert Cage is my first introduction to the talents of author Tycho Dwelis. It is, also, the first book in their series, Court of Snakes. I found it to be an interesting and entertaining book to read. I enjoyed Terran and Parisa’s story and seeing how they would overcome the obstacles that has been thrown at them. I was rooting for them right from the start. I admired the courage, determination and bravery Parisa demonstrated throughout the book. She is such a strong woman and loved her. It was fun taking this journey with the characters and seeing what would become of them in the end. It is not one that could be predicted and made me want to keep reading to see what would happen next. Callie is the fifth installment from Cheryl Wright’s delightful Brides of Montana series. I am finally come to the conclusion that my favorite Cheryl Wright book has to be the one I am holding. Just when I find a new favorite, she releases another. Callie is no different. I loved getting to know Callie Hogan. I adored her and Daniel’s story. Two Roads to Paradise: A Novel is the second book from the Be Careful What You Wish For series by Gordon Jensen with Cara Highsmith.. This is not from my usual genre that I usually go to when I want to find something new to read. However, I enjoyed reading the first book in the series, The Way Out: A Novel and wanted to see what it was going to happen next in the series. Just like book one, the plot is different and one that I could not be compare to another story I have ever read. The concept and structure of the book is unique and intriguing. This one does cover quite a bit of current controversial topics, politics, and the divisions that I would rather try to escape from when reading a book, but it was interesting how the authors used their imagination on how to deal with it. Though this one did not hold my attention as The Way Out: A Novel, it was still worth reading. I am giving Two Roads to Paradise: A Novel three stars. I have been a huge Wanda E Brunstetter fan for years and can never get tired of her stories. Her latest, The Apple Creek Announcement, is no different. I loved the first Mickey on the Move book and was excited to catch up with Mickey in his newest adventure, Mickey on the Move: Farming. It was fun and entertaining taking an adventure around the farm with little Mickey. Mickey is an adorable child and I admire how he is able to overcome the obstacles he gone through. Once again, Michelle Wagner does a wonderful job teaching young ones what it is like for those who have hearing difficulties. Children must learn about everyone’s differences and have compassion with what everyone go through. That is a life lesson that people of all ages need to learn, as well. Mickey on the Move: Farming is creatively illustrated by the talents of Jenny Phelps. She did a wonderful job of bringing the story to life. It gives a perfect visual depiction of what is going on and a wonderful addition to Mickey’s story that keeps little ones engaged. Mickey on the Move: Farming will be getting a very well deserved five plus stars from me. It would be a great story for readers between the ages of four and nine. I believe it would be a great addition for a school library or classroom so other children can have a better understanding what one may be going through. Butterfly Love from Above is a sweet and heartwarming story about a little girl, Star, who is grieving the loss of her beloved best friend and butterfly, Twinkle. Little Star has to learn how to deal with life without her friend she dearly loved and misses so much. As she moves forward, she learns and discovers joy again by helping others. I really liked this tale and admired Star’s courage in turning to those who are, also, dealing with their own hard times. I loved reading how she was able to find happiness by bringing it for those who are needing it, as well. A beautifully written book to read. It may be mainly for readers between the ages of four and eight, but many, young and old alike, will enjoy it too. I loved it. Butterfly Love from Above is beautifully illustrated by the talented artist, Kate Solenova. I thought the pictures were a perfect addition to the story. They are so colorful and bright that helps little ones to follow along with the words. I am giving Butterfly Love from Above five stars. As I try to navigate life without my husband, who passed last spring, I am always searching for books that will help me find my purpose in life. When I heard about Donna Roe Daniell’s A Midlife Voyage to Transformation, I quickly wanted to snatch it up and give it a read. I was far from being disappointed. Semper Fi Brothers is my first introduction to the talents of A C Turner. I enjoyed getting to know the characters of Shamus (“Gunny”), Buzz, and Quassam (“Q”). I love the brotherhood between the three. There is a lot going on, such as, danger, adventure, and action. There is suspense that helped me keep reading. Not only do they find themselves in battle, they, also, have their own demons and battles. I believe they are believable and relatable characters. Even though the plot could be intense at times, there was still some light humor. The author did an excellent job using vivid details of the war torn Syria. I was entertained with reading this book from start to finish. It is not a long book to read and I had no problem having it read in one sitting. It was a great way spending a rainy afternoon. Off Broadway: A Marriage Drama is another good read by the talented William A. Glass. I had the pleasure of reading his debut, As Good As Can Be, and was excited to have the opportunity to read this one. I was not disappointed. I thought it was an entertaining book to read. Just as insinuated in the title, it is full of drama. It was interesting to meet married couple, Cindy and Dave Knight. After years of being married, they are living in Manhattan and are beginning to have struggles within their relationship. I wanted to keep reading to see what would become of them and wonder if they would make their marriage get through the hard times. Marriage takes a lot of work and was hoping they would make it through. There are other characters that come into play that, also, contributes to the drama within the pages. The writing style and plot are different from other books I have read in the past, but unique and refreshing. The Elegant Emu is another fun book for younger readers from Karen Bobos and her Adventures in Harmony series. It was a great addition to the series. Elizabeth the Emu has a tough job of teaching the Bobos Babes sisters of Harmony Angel Scarlett, Princess Daphne, and Fairy Cora on how to have good manners. This includes: having good table manners, how passing gas is rude, not being on time is bad etiquette, being kind, the importance of hand washing, and others. Even though this is for the young ones to learn some important lessons in life, I believe many adults could learn something from it, also. The Elegant Emu is illustrated by the talent Emily Hercock. I thought her pictures are beautifully created to follow the story perfectly. It gives a great way for little ones to continue to stay interested and give them a wonderful visualization of what is going on. I am giving The Elegant Emu a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who are between the ages of three and seven years old. It would be a great addition to add to school classrooms or local libraries. The Beached Ones is the first book I have had the pleasure of reading by the talented writer, Colleen M Story. I found it to be an interesting and intriguing read. Finding Ruby Draker is an interesting read by new to me author, Marianne Scott. I found the plot to be different. It tells the story of college student Kathleen Jones who is living the life in the suburbs. Her world suddenly comes crashing down around here. Just before she is to graduate, she comes home to find her home gone and her family murdered and she herself is abducted. The danger is only just beginning from there. She must do all she can to survive. I kept asking myself questions throughout. Why is she now being referred as Ruby Draker? What will she discover about herself, her family and the kidnappers? This is a story that kept me gripping my seat and keep reading to find out what twist or what turn is happening next. I never knew what was going to happen next. I found the book to be fast paced and not at all predictable. I thought it was a great book to read and spend a nice and sunny day on my deck. I really liked it. It was fun to once again catch up with Alycat and her friends in Alysson Foti Bourque’s Alycat and the Cattywampus Wednesday. I love seeing what she was up to now. She learns some very valuable lessons along the way, such as, staying positive and having a great outlook will help you pull through even on a very wacky day. It is one of those books that will books that can be read over and over again. Once again artist, Chiara Civati, shows off her talents by illustrating Alycat and the Cattywampus Wednesday. The pictures are bright and vibrant that perfectly goes with the scenes and really bring Alycat’s story to life. I think they visually keep the children’s attention and actually seeing how the adventure unfolds for Alycat and her friends. I am giving Alycat and the Cattywampus Wednesday a very well deserved five plus stars. I would give it one hundred if we could. I recommend it for readers who are between the ages of three and eight. My kids and I look forward to reading the other books from the Alycat series in the near future. This would be a great addition in a public or school library and a fun book for a classroom story time. I am sure other young readers will love it as much as my family did. Fatal Code is the second installment from Natalie Walters’ The SNAP Agency series. I enjoyed the first book, Lights Out, and enjoyed this one even more. It was a thrilling novel to read. It was full of danger, intrigue, twists and turns that I could not have predicted. Elinor and Kekoa were interesting characters and I had to keep reading to see how it would all end for them both. I loved it. I am giving Fatal Code five stars. I believe readers who enjoy reading clean Romantic Suspense will want to grab this one. I look forward the next installment from The SNAP Agency series. In Honor's Defense is the third installment from Karen Witemeyer’s Hanger’s Horsemen. I have always adored her historical novels and this one is no different. It was great to go back in time in Texas. I loved getting to know Damaris and Luke and I was quickly caught up in their story. I enjoyed the adventure, mystery, romance and the element of faith within the pages. As always with a Witemeyer novel, it includes a good dose of laugh out loud scenes. There was nothing I did not love about this tale. It was fabulous. In Honor's Defense will be getting a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy reading clean Historical Romantic Fiction. I will never get tired of books written by Karen Witemeyer and will be looking for more in the future. I have had the pleasure of reading other books from Lauren Carr’s Mac Faraday Mystery series and was excited to have the opportunity to read the eighth installment, A Wedding and a Killing. Once again, I was entertained from start to finish. I enjoyed taking a trip to the quaint Deep Creek Lake. I was excited that there would be a wedding for Mac with his love, Archie. That is, until there is pandemonium when Gnarly makes a shocking discovery. Once again, there is another mystery that Mac gets thrown into to find out “who did it”. I loved taking this thrilling roller coaster ride and trying to figure out how it would all play out in the end. Of course, a Mac Faraday Mystery book can not be complete without the antics from Gnarly. That dog is always up to something and cracking me up. I can not help but to giggle every single time. Another great book by this talented author. If possible, I would give A Wedding and a Killing one hundred stars if I could. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy reading clean and fun cozy mysteries. I will continue to read more from Mac Faraday Mystery series to find out where Mac and Gnarly will be taking their readers to next. Greedy the Crow: Finders Keepers - Teaching Values to Children in a Fun Way is part of the Fearless and Friends series by Mother Melania. I found this to be an entertaining book that teaches morals and valuable lessons for readers along the way. I enjoyed getting to know the various animal friends and learning something about each one. Greedy the Crow gets himself into quite the predicament and I liked to see how the others step in to help. I found it to be a heartwarming story that can be relatable for everyday issues.
