If you liked "Mystic River" you'll love this book. Same Boston location, different group of guys. These are the bad guys, they hold up banks, and the leader of the group falls in love with one of his victims. Fast paced, it will keep you turning pages...a good read.

Ok, so I haven't read this yet. I have a beautiful signed copy that my daughter keeps "forgetting" to get back to me. She loved it. We both love Chuck P. so I can say I'll probably love this too. You approach all his books with a "what is he going to do now?????" attitude. I've seen Chuck P. at book signings and conventions. He's very funny. I wish he'd write about the Christmas elves.

Falling Man

Delillo, Don

This is the first post 9/11 novel I have read. It did not disapoint. A beautifully written novel it follows several people during the event, days after, years after. The falling man of the title is not the image burned into our brains of the man jumping from the tower. It is a performace artist who acts out the event by falling from bridges, buildings all over NY. A must read for everyone who lived through the event, either at ground zero or across the country on TV.

A new detective series that has a whole family of detectives working various cases. Izzy Spellman, the 28 year old in the family wants out of the business. They give her one more job before they will let her leave. The case is interesting and best of all very funny. You'll love the case, Izzy and her wacky relatives. Read it, get hooked try to be patient for the next book.

Celestine Hit Vaite

This is a funny and wonderful novel by Tahitian writer Clestine Hitiura Vaite. She really brings the island and it's people to life. It centers around the love and stife between a mother, Maternena and her headstrong, beautiful daughter, Leilani. The mother/daughter relationship is universal but there are some interesting twists. You'll learn along the way, about life and customs in Tahiti.
