Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. Subversive Cross Stitch 33 Designs for Your Surly Side

This book rocks! Definately not for the faint of heart or those who like to stitch cutesy whootsy crap. Whitty, catchy phrases that will make others do a double take. Easy to stitch with clear concise instructions and charts. Designs stitch up in hours versus days to be rewarded with great gifts.

Piece Of Cake A Memoir
by
Cupcake Brown
Krista
, April 10, 2006
This book kept me up all night long. It's a story of a journey from hell and back. Unfortunately, the comparision that many people make is that this is the same old sob story or an embellishment on relaity like a "A Million Little Pieces". However, that is two things that this book is not. Cupcake narrates a story through her life and how she had a lack of childhood, doing what she can to survive as illegal and unbelievable as they may be. Her willingness to forget all of her wrongdoings by those she loved and the event of her mothers death leads to alcohol and substance abuse. She eventually gets to a life that makes the substances her priority and did basically anything to obtain them. Everything hits rock bottom when she wakes up half naked behind a dumpster. Her very generous employer helps her get into a treatment program. With support and sheer will she obtains soberity and gets her life back. Great book best thing I read in a long time.
