Rebecca Solnit always possesses this amazing ability to move from personal to universal and then back again to personal in a few sentences. Unlike A Field Guide to Getting Lost, Faraway Nearby is a far more personal account. Lightness, Exactitude and Multiplicity.

Gorgeous book. One of the most interesting short story collections this year. Rebecca is a brilliant observer of small human imperfections and wonderful writer.
