The Ravenscar Dynasty Barbara Taylor Bradford reviewer Pamela Ackerson (author HOme of the Braves trilogy) A saga that starts out slow and then gradually picks up the pace. You become snagged into the web of the story without realizing it, until you are too tired to continue reading and see that it is way past your bedtime.

Camille Montgomery places herself in the middle of a race for control of Egyptian antiquities. The Earl of Carlyle is searching for his parents murderer. Although the beauty and the beast is typical, Ms Drake engaged the storyline and made it her own creating believable characters and a fast moving plot.

Payback

Payback by Fern Michaels Reviewer: Pamela Ackerson author Home of the Braves trilogy Eh, it was ok Nothing to rant and rave about. We have a group of female vigilantes, running around revenging wrongs that have been done to people. The last few chapters, basically the climax of the story was worth reading. Not a lot of explanations which left me wondering, often. Like who is Willie? A ghost named Barbara keeps talking about him. No clue as to who he is. Also, I finished reading the book and didn't realize I was done. I went back to finish the novel and poof. I was already done. I didn't even realize I finished the story. I know I saw 40 pages of previews for books already written but I didn't feel as if I finished with the one I was reading. Absolutely, no desire to read the previews. It just didn't do at all. At least not for me.

Worldly Widow
by
Elizabeth Thornton
Pjakrsn
, November 09, 2006
The Worldly Widow by Elizabeth Thornton Reviewed by: Pamela Ackerson (author of Home of the Braves trilogy) In a man's world, she was a publisher. To save her struggling company, traveling to Paris to purchase the rights to a tell-all diary of a prostitute, Annabelle Jocelyn finds herself in a precarious and indiscrete situation. A woman with a backbone, willing to stand for what she believes in, she clashes with the Earl of Dalmar, a war hero who fights to win, with scruples as an option. By accepting the manuscript, Annabelle unwittingly puts herself in danger. The earl battles her enemies, her own recklessness, and his personal demons. A cluster of murder, deceit, robbery and seduction collides with two strong personalities. Ms. Thornton writes an intriguing story. It starts out a little slow but once you get past the first few chapters, the plot picks up speed and you are finished involved with the story, cheering both characters, knowing that they will manage to work out their issues but curious as to how it will be accomplished. A delightful tale woven with a magical corridors of intrigue.

We the People

We the People By: Pamela Ackerson Romance Divas Reviewed by: Pamela K. Kinney Time Travel/Historical Romance Though I'd never read the first in this trilogy, Home of the Braves , still this story of Matthew, Standing Deer's and Karen Anderson's son, and his love for Devry was compelling enough to read this novel. There had been enough information given in the beginning for me to know about the back story of the first book to be able to read this book without any confusion. Using an antique bed, Matthew travels to the past. There, he meets young Devry and falls in love with her, wishing to marry her and bring her back to our time, only to have their love forbidden by his mother. Besides the forbidden love angle, there's also a mystery, where someone is murdering the men of the local men's club. One of those accused is Devry herself. Combining the paranormal elements of time travel by a magical antique bed, historical aspects of the Old West and the Indians, romance of various characters, plus a murder mystery, Pamela Ackerson manages to blend all four into one tightly woven tapestry of entertainment that most will enjoy. 4 Kisses

Almost a Bride by: [kw]Jane Feather[/kw] Reviewer: [a]Pamela Ackerson[/a] (author of Home of the Braves trilogy) A Sweet Romance This story is right up to par along with the rest of Ms. Feather's novels. A feisty heroine, Arabella, and a revengeful hero named Jack clash and play witty games with each other. Kick your feet up and enjoy, from the very first pages with him winning an estate and all it's contents to the last page where ... (no I am not going to spoil the ending) ... you smile in satisfaction, Almost a Bride is one of the better historical romances available on the shelf. It is a delightful story immersing the reader into each scene, a romance to keep you turning the pages until the very end. Definitely a book to read.

Reunion

Reunion by [kw]Nora Roberts[/kw] Reviewed by [a]Pamela Ackerson[/a] (author of Home of the Braves trilogy) Once More With Feeling I've always thought second time around, second chances when it came to romance was pretty much a person's way of trying to hold onto the past. Ms Roberts has taken a hold onto the past situation and made it a happily ever after. Through the whole story I had a warm happy feeling even when the main characters were struggling with their ghosts. It was a good story, definitely the kind to read curled up on the couch with a cup of tea. Treasures Lost, Treasures Found An excellent story! I whipped through this book and was disappointed when I was finished. I was not by any means disappointed because of the way it was written. I didn't want the story to end! I wanted to keep on reading about the new found romance. Fascinating, intriguing, intense and straight to the heart.

Pulled Along History?s Timeline By [a]Romance Junkies[/a] Reviewer: Rhea Palmer A magical time-machine bed makes its way into the Anderson household forever changing their lives. They take turns traveling back in time to learn where their true destiny lies. In the second book of Pamela Ackerson?s trilogy, it is Matthew?s turn to learn where his place is in life. Transported back to South Dakota in the year 1890, Matthew is witness to the Native American Lakota tribe?s battles with the U.S. Government. Being half Lakota himself, Matthew is torn between loyalty to his tribe and loyalty to his country. The conflict escalates into open hostility when Sitting Bull endorses the Ghost Dance - a religious movement seen as a threat to the U.S. military. Sitting Bull?s arrest takes a dark turn when he is shot and killed and the hatred culminates in the [t]Massacre of Wounded Knee. [/t] As Matthew is pulled along history?s timeline, he is frustrated at the mistakes made and the ignorance of both sides to how true co-existence can be accomplished. When Matthew meets Devry, this child-woman steals his heart and complicates his life in ways she cannot understand. How can Matthew find his destiny when Devry has no idea how different his world is from hers? In the midst of bloody confrontations and his own inner turmoil, can he keep his head and not alter history? Pamela Ackerson?s love for Native Americans shows through her writing. The characters she has created have a high regard for them and their beliefs. I enjoyed reading and learning about a culture I don?t normally come into contact with. You will definitely need to start at the beginning of this story with her first book, [kw]Home of the Braves[/kw].

To Sir Phillip, With Love by [kw]Julia Quinn[/kw] Reviewer: [a]Pamela Ackerson [/a](author of Home of the Braves trilogy) Eloise loves to correspond with everyone and anyone she can. Her adventure starts with a condolence letter sent to Sir Phillip Crane upon the death of his wife, her distant cousin. Alas, the heroine is faced with a cantankerous gentlemen and unpredictable twins when she unexpectedly arrives on his doorstep. Ms. Quinn keeps the reader going from page one until the very end. A storyteller in its truest form. Before I knew it, I was closing the book, wanting more. More, she has giving us with the Bridgerton series. Pick an adjective, any adjective and you will describe this excellent story. I can't wait, sitting on my bedside table, another Bridgerton story just waiting for me to read--It's in His Kiss.

The Sherbrooke Twins by [kw]Catherine Coulter[/kw] Reviewer: [a]Pamela Ackerson[/a], author of Home of the Braves trilogy I never thought I would see the day when I read a book by Catherine Coulter and was disappointed. The first 20 or so pages was great and then the book draaaaaaagggged. I almost didn't bother to finish reading it. In my head I kept thinking, this is Catherine Coulter it has to get better than this. So I read on and fought my way through the center of the book and zing! About three-quarters of the way through the book, There she was! I knew Ms. Coulter would show her head and writing expertise! The last quarter of the book, woohoo. That's what I was expecting. Her Master and Commander by [a]Karen Hawkins[/a] Reviewer: Pamela Ackerson (author of the Home of the Braves trilogy) Delightful and Delicious The ingredients of a bestseller consists of one author extraordinaire, originality, imagination, wit, humor, romance, unexpected twists, and the power to captivate, mixed in with a few spices and you have a novel written by Karen Hawkins. The sea is a pirate's mistress and when a pirate/turned war hero is anchored to the land, he does not make a very happy man. Enter Reeves who must now take this uncivilized being and create a new and improved Earl of Rochester. Impossible you say? Not if you have the enchanting Prudence Thistlewaite as your tutor...or can she tame the wild and simply irresistible captain? Enjoy!

The Secrets of Rosa Lee by [a]Jodi Thomas[/a] Reviewer: Pamela Ackerson (author of Home of the Braves Trilogy) I enjoy Jodi Thomas's books but this time I was disappointed. With each page I turned I felt as if I had read the book before, even though I know I hadn't. There were times during the story when I was confused and had to flip back and reread sections to see if I could understand what I missed. Sometimes, I couldn't find what I missed and it left me wanting. I'm not sure if it is Ms. Thomas's writing in this book or if her content editor wasn't on target. Normally, I find Ms. Thomas's books engaging and moving, this time--well, we all have our off days.
