Do we love books? Yes, of course, obviously! We’re obsessed with them. But that doesn’t mean we’re not just as obsessed with so many of the great movies and television shows being released today...

Publisher Comments

David Sedaris plays in the snow with his sisters. He goes on vacation with his family. He gets a job selling drinks. He attends his brother's wedding. He mops his sister's floor. He gives directions to a lost traveler. He eats a hamburger. He has his blood sugar tested.

It all sounds so normal, doesn't it?

In this collection of essays, David Sedaris lifts the corner of ordinary life, revealing the absurdity teeming below its surface. His world is alive with obscure desires and hidden motives — a world where forgiveness is automatic and an argument can be the highest form of love.

Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim is another unforgettable collection from one of the wittiest and most original writers at work today.

Review

"Sedaris's sense of life's absurdity is on full, fine display, as is his emotional body armor. Fortunately, he has plenty of both." Kirkus Reviews

Review

"Sedaris' piquant essays are as meticulously honed and precisely timed as the best stand-up comic routines....[H]e is mesmerizing, and his ability to make the reader gasp, laugh out loud, or grow teary is undiminished." Donna Seaman, Booklist

Review

"[A] brilliant comic performance — a deftly shaken cocktail of wit, weirdness, and melancholy....Sedaris deserves a rave for giving us another book, period. But he's getting one here for giving us the best book of his career. (Grade: A)" Augusten Burroughs, Entertainment Weekly

This was funny from start to finish! David Sedaris never lets me down. A great read in between the stack of books required for Med School!

Woven together brilliantly, the stories Sedaris tells leaves you yearning for more. The sarcastic tone may cause you to laugh out loud, beware! Humor is not the only highlight of the book, as the stories and memories carry insights that most can learn from.
