Her fiction and nonfiction have appeared in Essence, Ms, The New York Times, and numerous other publications. She was a recipient of the 1993 Griot Award from the New York Chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists. Ms. Wesley has two daughters and is married to noted screenwriter and playwright, Richard Wesley.
