Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments

Ralph Roberts hasn't been sleeping well lately. Every morning he wakes just a little bit earlier until pretty soon, he isn't sleeping at all. It wouldn't be so bad if not for the strange hallucinations--and the nightmares that keep coming to life.

Review

So packed with suspense, romance, literary reference, fascinating miscellaneous knowledge, and heart that only Stephen King could have written it. (Booklist)

Review

“Stephen King is an immensely talented storyteller of seemingly inexhaustible gifts.”—Interview

“Stephen King is superb.”—Time

Nightmares come to life for Ralph Roberts. Up all night, he's seeing some pretty strange things. No wonder he can't get back to sleep. Readers won't be able to either.

As a huge fan of Uncle Stevie I cannot believe it took me so long to get to Insomnia. Several years ago my sister said she couldn't get through it---once I picked it up I read it in a week!! The story pulled me in right from the beginning. His characters are so alive and so easy to relate to (except for the supernatural stuff!). His visions are so beautifully written that my mind could see them clearly, like they were right in front of me. This story is a must for fans of The Gunslinger series, and I count myself as one of them. If you have read the series the background connections in Insomnia are edifying. If you have yet to read The Gunslinger, read Insomnia first. Highly recommended!

Oh, I absolutely LOVED this book! Insomnia kept me captivated and eager to find out what happened next. This was a fabulous read and I will most likely read it more than once. Stephen King really did it again with this one. LOVELY!
