About the Author
Editor-in-Chief Alan Toogood trained at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Key and at Brighton Parks and gardens before going on to a two-year internship at the Royal Horticultural Society's Garden at Wisley, UK. He worked as a horticultural journalist on Gardener's Chronicle and Amateur Gardening magazines. For several years he was editor of the monthly magazine Greenhouse. He is now a freelance horticultural journalist and consultant and features coordinator for The Garden magazine. He has written many books and contributes to horticultural journals.
