Synopsis
Excerpt from Mind in Matter: A Short Argument on Theism
The following short treatise originated in a dissatisfac tion felt by the writer with the ordinary treatment of the points involved. The time has arrived when, in the judgment of many, a radical handling of the whole subject of materialism must, and, it may possibly be added, can be undertaken. The progress of knowledge in all directions makes it possible to examine Nature at the foundations, and to detect where Mind has interposed, step by step, in its arrangements.
