In arriving at decisions on many of the questions involved, it has been assisted by the reactions of the rural school patrons at public meetings held in various sections of the state. The ques tionnaires which were submitted through the farm organizations were also of assistance. This volume is the result of the work of the survey stafi, the reactions of rural school patrons, and the study by the committee of the numerous and complex problems involved. It is your committee's report to you. The committee invites constructive criticism.
