In treating of epilepsy and other convulsive affections, I trust that the thought and experience of the last four years will have enabled me to supply some of the deficiencies and to correct some of the errors which existed in the first edition. I do not propose, however, to enter into every part of the subject. On the contrary, I pass by several topics of considerable interest in them selves, but only of secondary importance in the argument, because I do not wish to divert attention from the object I have in view, which is to point out the necessity for a fundamental change in the pathology and treatment of the disorders under consideration - a change which is in accordance with that which would seem to be demanded in the.
