I received this book as a gift, and I am glad I did! The introduction to the book says it all: this is a book about technique. From ice, to infusing liquors, to the tools needed to make it, this book has it all. As someone who is new to making his own cocktails that involve more than two ingredients, I have found this book immensely helpful. With information on infusions, syrups, and the like, I believe more seasoned bartenders would enjoy the information presented as well. The book has a ton of information on making your own ingredients instead of relying on store bought goods, giving the mixer another layer of options in his craft. There are cocktail recipes throughout the book that have been very good. Morgenthaler's comments and suggestions on the recipes have been helpful too. The book is well written, organized, and looks great with a lot of colored photos. I find myself flipping though the chapters over and over again and expect to do so for a very long time.
