Synopsis

OBAMA - THE JOURNEY COMPLETED - After eight bruising years of guiding the American ship of state, Barack H. Obama has essentially relinquished leadership of this moral and philosophic battleship many have labeled "the last hope for humanity." Want to recount some of the "rough stuff," he faced, look inside OBAMA THE JOURNEY COMPLETED - NEVER PROMISED A ROSE GARDEN. Never in the history of the nation's Presidency has an individual faced such challenges in form of "friendly" and "enemy fire." Important, Mr. Obama has not received credit for his outstanding role in rescuing the American economy, saving the auto industry, reducing the nation's reliance on foreign energy, generating more clean energy initiatives, advancing the cause of women and speaking out on controversial issues. Unquestionably, in response, Republican and "Tea Party" players have encouraged and generated a great deal of racial animosity and disrespect towards Mr. Obama and the institution of the Presidency during his tenure as Head of State, Commander-In-Chief, and Chief Diplomat. All criticized his policies with great vehemence and been extremely obdurate in opposition to his every legislative proposal; yet, he achieved much in Lilly Ledbetter, Credit Card/Student Loan Adjustment, Dodd/Frank financial and economic regulation, Climate Change initiatives, Iran Nuclear Deal, Asian Trade Deal, Removing key players from the battlefield in the War-On-Terror, the Cuba Initiative, Race to the Top, encouraging mothers to return to College, while boosting the role of Community Colleges as an effort to upgrade American teaching methodology in the key areas of education, technology, and choosing to be "My Brothers' Keeper." His policies have not simply saved jobs of "first responders," teachers, and others in the auto industry; national unemployment rates have dropped to its lowest levels in a decade as the private sector added many millions of jobs in a 72-month consistent job growth period and approaching 20 million persons been assured Affordable Care Act's health care protections. As such, the depths of the inherited malady is still not fully explained to the American people duped by previous administrations, yet there is no scandal tainting Obama's Presidency. His approval rating is high. As President Mr. Obama shed light on and provided some relief on the issue of undocumented immigration. Meanwhile persons in unrelenting opposition have stirred the "melting pot" adding seeds of disharmony, discontent, division, racial animosity since day one, while skillfully blaming Mr. Obama for wanting to "change the Constitution." In this strategy, not sufficient attention was paid the divisive role of those spewing "One term president;" "Worse than slavery;" "Stupid;" "Waterloo;" "You Lie;" "Send Obama back to Kenya;" "Gangster government;" Pastor praying for Obama's death, Black Protester with Guns, and the disgusting "Birther Charade of Donald Trump." All this, the "Cool Ruler" took in stride affirming "Politics is a contact sport" and these are only "Good Ole Boys" acting out. However, only history will tell if Mr. Paul Krugman's assessment that "Obama is the greatest President ever" is absolutely correct. Nevertheless, given his mandate, Mr. Obama's objective was to rescue and protect his beloved nation while charting a path into the future that reduces America's reliance on foreign energy, create credible scientific opportunities for the nation's young and to his critics he admonished as T.D. Jakes put it: A giraffe was grazing at treetop level and along came a tortoise who hailed, "How's it going?" "Great," replied the ruminant. "And you?" "Its hell down here. All I can see and smell is garbage and foul odor." "Well, come up a notch and enjoy the green foliage and healthy air among the Blue skies." This, Mr. Obama offered his critics who choose to remain in Tortoiseville as he sought clean and creative paths for America's future. fredsegypt.com@fredse
