Not Given to Appetite

This is a journal of a year in a fictional community united and committed to lifestyle changes that reverse obesity, chronic diseases, substance abuse and crime to become a model community. The improved quality of life is evidence that the choices we make daily impact our health, family, neighborhood, and the world. Wholesome foods, produced and consumed locally, build health without gas consumption, air pollution, and packaging to fill up landfills. The national budget is balanced with a surplus when health care, education and social programs are managed locally, eliminating waste and fraud. Money remains in the area when customers support locally owned businesses and neighbors work together to provide their food, clothing and shelter, and to utilize natural resources for a simpler and more rewarding life. Renewed faith and relationship with God lights the way to truth and changed lives that become recipients of His provision to meet all off our needs. Our education system, free of federal government support and controls, allows a curriculum determined and approved by parents and the local community. Lifestyles and theories contrary to Christian doctrines cannot be forced on our youth. Violence and crime have been replaced by the sounds of happy children playing outside and neighbors visiting and working together to provide a safe, productive, and self-supporting neighborhood.
