The age-old struggle between parents and the new generation are at the heart of this classic prairie romance. Canadian farmers, John and Anna Miller, have sacrificed to send their son, Will, to the university in Toronto. As the play opens, Will is returning to his home with a 'city' bride which sets in motion the building tension between Anna and the new bride, Carrie. The plot involves a reconciliation between the two and a love story between a neighbor and the Millers' hired hand. Author Sara Pasiciel succeeds in introducing the bleak atmosphere of the prairie and the fear of a young wife in her new world.
