Synopsis
Excerpt from A Genealogy of the Towner Family: The Descendants of Richard Towner, Who Came From Sussex County, Eng;, To Guilford, Conn;, Before 1685
At first my thought was to write the Genealogy of Samuel and his family only, but when I had done this, my research had brought me so much material as to Rich ard, J r., John, and Benjamin and their descendants, that I decided to compile the whole from Richard, Sr., down; and this has been done, and the latest facts obtainable even to this year are included. See note A, page 241. Many who could give information have failed to respond, and lenient judgment is craved for all such deficiencies or imperfections. Other Towners have been found who cannot be connected with Richard and his stock; some in Ohio, Illinois, Colorado, New Mexico, Iowa and Kan sas quite a number in the cities of New York, Brooklyn.
